For anyone wondering, the calf that was born in this video is Lehua! She is currently alive and still lives with her mother Keo(who is mentioned in the description) at this facility, Dolphin Quest Hawaii. Lehua's sire/father is Nimbus, who is also still alive with them and others that live at this facility.

Human babies are very much the same. They immediately know their mother from sound; smell; touch; affection; comfort; etc. Also, as a human baby cannot walk until his/her legs are ready...a baby dolphin cannot swim perfectly until his/her dorsal fin strengthens. So, the human baby, like, the dolphin baby, needs his/her mom for nursing; teaching; growing up; etc.

@Precure Forever well during the moments after its born a new born actually swimming on its own without the support of the mother yoh can look at its fin notice how it flops around because it's still relatively weak and the mother spend that time time supporting the infant till its muscles are strong enough where it can swim on its own
@808INFantry11X

@@RealCynix the baby if you notice swims on tip of the the mother because the mother is supporting the child so it can surface and take breathes because it has trouble doing it on its own at this point of its life. Thats why for almost week the baby spends it time swimming like that with its mother until its strong enough to swim unsupported. After that you will see it swim underneath the mother

yeah.. she doesn't need a doctor.. humans are so weak.. off course we can help each other out, nothing wrong with that.. but when people think they "have to" go to hospital it's false.. the only reason they think they have to is because governmental mind control, almost forcing people to go there, so they can write down each birth and keep track of each man (for tax matters and controlling purpose later on)

For other mammals, giving birth is generally not as painful as for a human. Because humans have such large heads, it is difficult for a baby to pass through the rather narrow hips. Other animals don't have this issue. For humans, it is a payoff between possible risk of death in childbirth, and a large brain volume. It sucks lmao. But hey, at least other mammals may not be in such a pain in comparison lol

How come the baby doesn't flap around while the head is still inside it's mother? What triggers the sudden "activity" when the head emerges?

Its the weight of the naby and the pushing by the mom that causes the break. Also the reasion why the baby diesnt flop around is... well haven't figured that out yet. But yeah I watched animal births on animal planet as a kid. Its always a wonderful sight. Well to me it is.
@evieaddy9580
@evieaddy9580 9 жыл бұрын
Hilary Carleo I'd take the guess that because it would cause the mother more pain if it flapped around so it instinctively stayed still till mother had pushed it out

2:27 Yes, dolphins have umbilical cords. Same with whales and porpoises. When they give birth, the umbilical cord connecting mother to baby breaks away and the baby is left with a belly button. For real.
