Wow! I'm Portuguese and I was so happy to see that there was a reaction here to Fado, our traditional music that evokes "saudade" (that Portuguese word that is so special and unique, because there is no translation), the closest meaning is longing. It's our culture, our memories and the emotions of our people that are sung in Fado and it's usually sung by a single person accompanied by a classical guitar and a Portuguese guitar. We have excellent fado singers, such as Marisa, Carminho, Ana Moura, Camané and many others! Thank you for this! I love your reactions! I'm a metal fan myself! Beijinhos de Portugal!☺❤

I am Portuguese. I love Fado. It's not for everyone, but it reaches in people's soul. For me, i'ts like someone is squeezing my chest and the tears burn in my eyes. Not always sad, but can be melancholy. It's an explosion of emotion, not necessarily sadness, but more like a catharsis. It feels good afterwords. I'ts very beautiful music and poetic lyrics. I'ts usually about longing, whether for a person, a love, a place, or a life. There are also happy Fado songs. Thank you for exploring this. Beijinhos. 💖

The word “Fado” comes from Latin and means “destiny”. which says a lot about its depth. In fado we find a wide variety of strong emotions: love and lack of love, misfortune, nostalgia, longing... but also joy and humor.

Hard to describe your feelings? That's what happens to all foreigners who have never heard of Fado! Why? Fado goes straight to your heart and soul filling them with strong emotions. And you don't need much: two guitars (including the Portuguese Guitar), a fado singer (they are usually extremely talented) and the Portuguese Language.

If the more I squeeze you The less I feel you here If the more I separate you You own my days What a wise or uncertain God In the winter I saw you He did it because he wanted to leave you To my empty hands You came to me in secret With everything to give me You took it by conquest My loneliness Baby, don't be afraid If you want to live in me I'm the house, don't insist Run away from my hand Baby, don't be afraid If you want to live in me I'm the house, don't insist Run away from my hand It's just that I don't even live And I lie to the laws of life You don't even make an address Because you want to live on moons The love that was given today It's half goodbye It's kind of the end of the road I miss you half The love that was given today It's half goodbye It's kind of the end of the road I miss you half And now the math is done My love tell me where you are going Or don't say anything That the pain will be enough Let them fall undone It's pain, nothing more That at the end of the morning I know you will come back Let them fall undone It's pain, nothing more That at the end of the morning I know you will come back
