Sehwag and lara.. I still remember that magical inning that sehwag played against Sri Lanka in galle against the mighty Murali and the mystery mendis.. The greatest players of spin bowling were playing in that team and nobody had a clue on how to tackle mendis and sehwag just obliterated that attack with a double ton. And lara is lara..

Andy Flower in the 2000/2001 test series against India scored over 500+ runs. In just 2 test matches. Zimbabwe lost the 1st test but Andy Flower scored 183* no and 55. In the 2nd Test Zimbabwe drew the test match, and he scored 70 and 232* no. Andy Flower has an average of 93.15 against India alone. In Test cricket his average is 51.54. Revolutionised the reverse sweep and all sweep shots in general. But I think alot of credit has to go to David Houghton, he brought up his 150, his 200, and 250 with reverse sweep shots. He was sweeping 🧹 the bowlers long before anyone else was. Again had Flower and Houghton played for a stronger Team then these guys would be absolutely worshipped. I'd say Andy Flower and David Houghton are now more known for their ability as being some of the greatest coaches of the modern era, without a doubt.

Lara was a complete package as a batsman against spin. He had all the shots in the book- sweep, inside out loft, late cut, drives on both sides. Not to mention coming down the wicket and sending the ball to the rooftop in a majestic fashion. Easily the best ever.

He had problems against swinging balls but against spin he was the best ever. 309 vs Saqlain. 293 vs Murali. 201 against Mendis. No contest. Most dominating batsman against spin in history.

Andy Flower Brian Lara David Houghton The best ever was without a doubt the great Andy Flower. The Flower brothers were infact both great against spin bowlers. I'm Australian 🦘 but as a massive cricket fan in general, the best I've scene was Andy Flower without a doubt. If he didn't play for Zimbabwe he would be alot more remembered then he is. Now the best coach in the world.

Infact now when I think of it the whole Zimbabwean team are great players of spin. Another name Brendan Taylor just makes a mockery of all spinners, even in today's current Zimbabwean squad Sean Williams and Craig Ervine are great at playing spin. Again these guys would have alot more name recognition had they being playing for England, Australia or India.

if the discussion is about batter who is great against spin then most of indian batters were great players of spin.The great sachin Tendulkar, rahul dravid,ms dhoni also,gambhir.But if it is only about spin then you should have named a player who didnt treat spinners as bowlers itself was Sehwag.He was infamous for not considering spinners as bowlers.you ask any spin bowler who played against him he would sehwag is the most dangerous batsman to bowl to.Ask ashwin also.Sehwag for me vs spinners.the best batter.Even inzamam ul haq and younis khan very great batters.
