What do you mean MSD didnt score as many runs in ODI. He scored more ODI runs than some of the greats like Lara and Gilchrist with roughly the same number of innings. He was often played down the order to accommodate Yuvi, still managed to score 8k / 9k / 10k runs with similar number of innings as Sachin. MSD is definitely one of the greatest batsman in cricket

These legends didn’t have Bumrah, Shami and Ashwin. The best they had was zaheer Khan (avg 32) and Kumble (avg 29, strike rate 60+). India used to fail in SENA in 90’s because of shitty batting and bowling (barring Sachin). And in 2000’s because of shitty bowling. I wish these legends could have bowlers with 20 avg and 50 strike rate.

Forget tests, ODI or T20 on pure batting abilities alone Sunny Gavaskar will always be considered the greatest batsmen of all time along with Bradman, Viv Richards, Lara and Tendulkar. Facing the brutal WI pace quartet and the likes of Lilee, Thomo on sometimes uncovered pitches or green tops and that too without helmet. Tendulkar- Gavaskar and a distant third Kohli.

Virendar Sehwag should be in the top 3, he dominated the bowlers, he revolutionized Test cricket, particularly for India, if you take Indian test team before and after Sehwag, there would be a huge difference, before Sehwag, Indian test batsmen will be a laughing bunch in SENA countries facing pace bowlers there but the fearless Sehwag changed it.. He has 8566 runs, and two triple centuries, neither Kohli or Sunil or Sachin has a triple century. Mr.Vaughan, the test cricket style which England plays today was already played by Sehwag 20 years ago Sunil Gavaskar would be another one, one can't just imagine playing those fast West Indies bowlers in the 80s even without a helmet. Test Cricket for India without Dravid could have been huge failure during his time, he would be in my Top 3, Kohli next, and Sachin

When he used to practice at the wankhede, u could hear the melodic thud of his bat outside the stadium even when he played a forward defence!! I started following Cricket properly around 2012. For me, my 3 most favorite Indian batsman would be 1) Virat Kohli - He was the person who made me fall in love with Cricket & specifically Test Cricket. The way he played & Captained in that 2014 Australian Tour was amazing. Test Cricket had never been that exciting for me before. 2) Cheteshwar Pujara - Pujara's contribution to Indian test team was immense imo. We all are feeling his absence in the current series. 3) Suresh Raina - I might be the only one who has Raina in my list but I have a solid reason for it. During my early days of watching Cricket, Raina came to the rescue many times when we suffered a collapse or were in a really tough position. I remember many match winning knocks by him especially his partnerships with Kohli & Dhoni. He was one of my fav cricketers growing up.
