These inventions are so great that they can make even your grandparents jealous of the modernity of your home! But she will definitely still only use the rice cooker to make soup!

That package box is...quite frankly...a near-useless space-waster. Not only does it drop potentially fragile objects from over half a meter, but there's literally no issue with cutting links on chains that thin. Bonus point?! The box is partially open inside and out, so if you manage to hook a package with partially closed lid, you can lift it up and then open the lid completely with the package. A good theft-prevention system needs to meet two basic functions. 1) Not be drop-dependent. It must keep the package in contact with a surface or held at all times, to make sure that fragile materials aren't damaged. 2) After closing, the package must be moved out of reach from the dropping side completely, so that the process cannot be reversed with a bit of wire and manual skills.

In the first clip the hook didn't even look like it was closed up where it was attached to the lid. So someone could just unhook it. They seemed to solve that in the higher resolution videos that came after though. However they seemed to have extra links of chain for no reason.

05:30 - 57degC is way too low for many parts of the world. They need to make that adjustable. Here in Oz our roof spaces can regularly get up near 80degC for multiple day or even weeks through summer. And at ceiling level it may only be 5-10degC cooler.

Wish I had a pool alarm ....My grandmother, who had diabetes, fell in the pool one day. We did manage to get her out but we gave her some apple juice. Then she changed colour, climbed up a tree and died.

I prefer to live off the grid. We have power and a well, we can now save rain water for the garden/greenhouse... So if we lose power we have a generator, it's enough to run the well pump and the freezers and fridge and my dialysis machine. So we are covered. In the city you have nothing when you lose power, or the city water or the sewage system. We are happy living out in the middle of nowhere. We are content. We now have a garbage removal service first time ever out where we live. If we lose that, oh well we did just fine without it.
