It's lovely to see someone describe how much they love their car and how they've gone the extra mile to take care of it :)

Nice workmanship, I currently own a snowberry white MGC roadster the second I've owned. 40 years ago I had a mineral blue C roadster both equipped with overdrive

Bought a CGT in my 20's, restored it, (myself, coachbuider) enjoyed it, sold it 28 yrs later, got my money back. Never paid tax. Happy days.

You’ve got the back panel as it should be no seams as they are lead loaded joint’s from the factory, later mgbgt had the seams.

the seams at the back only show on later MGBs, the joints were lead loaded in the early MGBs and all MGCs

I remember Barry from auto crossing in the late 60’s and 70’s . I was in Four Ways Car Club.....think he was West Essex?

What others have said about the seams is correct. If your GT has roof pillar flashes all they do is cover the seam between pillar and roof panel. No MGC GT had these flashes or rear panel seams as the exposed seams came about for the MGB in 1975 and C production finished in 1969 after two years. The C was to replace the 3 litre Healey but Donald Healey didn’t like the car so would not put his name to it. By the way the C engine was a heavily modified unit of the Austin Healey engine. It was shorter and had a 5 bearing crankshaft plus more mods. Terry Mitchel did the chassis reconfiguring. The car was to have the Daimler 2.5 litre V8 but it didn’t happen. I’m not sure now why, and most people on the C project have passed away. The C is not as nimble as the B and can be a little ponderous at the front but with a change of shock absorbers, the right pressures and tyres this can mostly be eliminated. The car is a very good Grand Tourer that will cruise along all day at 70-80 MPH in Overdrive I am on the look out for a CGT myself and as with the B an overdrive is a must have. A very underrated classic. Well done on saving it. (I’ve a feeling this car was sold recently)

Wo has not this kind of problem. Thanks you to réponse.

Beautiful car! It does sadden me when I see today's MG China owned models, they are so typically hideous! Thank you for sharing.
