That's so cool, Charlie's work and products look amazing. Thanks for sharing this, I'm stoked for the owner of this truck!

Cool project. Nice that you’re powder coating it before the body goes on. On future videos it’d be nice if the music wasn’t so much louder than the narration. Looking forward to seeing the body go on.

Tim, great video. This looks like a very nice kit from Charlie and I would like to pick one up. Planning on going G56 with my truck so it makes me a little hesitant now seeing the trans crossmember.
@decentgarage6 ай бұрын
Just curious what make you hesitant about it?
@cartergarvie6 ай бұрын
Just in reference to you r g56 video a little while back I seen and you had to move the crossmember back, I suppose a guy could build a mount off of this crossmember though@@decentgarage

Love the videos. I didn't have this much trouble removing frame rivets. I ground them flush with a flapper disc. Pulled the cab bracket off and punched them out with a hammer and punch.
@decentgarage10 ай бұрын
Yeah, sometimes less is more. I actually think a grinder and air hammer is the way to go. But if they're in a spot that you can get a grinder to them the torch is best

Great video! I have seen a white 93 W350 Club Dually for sale locally with that suspension setup. Probably built by Charlie, I'm guessing. I got to see the steering box setup in your video. I'm wondering how much lift would be needed to run that cross-over and how to retain some sort of sway bar keeping leaf springs. Getting the steering box out of the fender well would be nice.

Yep, that was built by him! Looks stock but it's an insane build

I am sure the truck won't ever get worked heavy so not really an issue but those shock/struts are putting a big leverage twist on the frame rails they were never intended to carry load like that. I deally it needs a brace across the top of the two but the engine makes that hard to do.
@decentgarage10 ай бұрын
Good point Brian. The trans crossmember also serves as the cross brace at the link arm bases and there is also a frame brace up by the steering box than goes all the way across as you. Luckily Charlie has done extensive real world anecdotal research on this setup both towing and offroad and it has performed phenomenally in both situations.

All of those parts look like they are well designed and fabricated. How many work hours did it take the crew? Curious of the cost of the parts and installation?
@decentgarage10 ай бұрын
To be honest, we didn't get started till Saturday at 6 pm. We had it almost completely done by 2 am. Just had to install the shocks the next day.
@scubasteve794610 ай бұрын
How much lift do you think it will be? Amazing 😁👌

Is a three link better than a four link
@decentgarage10 ай бұрын
They both have different purposes. For a truck like this that will be used on the road 3 link is perfect. When you get in to off-road use, 4 link may be slightly better. You lose stability at higher speed with 4 link.

Damn that drone operator )not a pilot( is paying hell of a lot of money
@garywilton421810 ай бұрын
It's not a sway bar, it's a track bar, its purpose is to keep the diff centered in the chassis thru suspension travel

Hi Tim, LOVE your videos! Always learn so much. You really try and learn to do the best job you can. Also looks like your skills are improving quickly! Could do without the unnecessary, EXTREAMLY LOUD MUSIC in-between the narrating. Your content is so good you don't need that.

Editing audio is VERY difficult to do because the output is not only dependent on how it's edited it is also dependent on the end users audio setup. The quality, tone, and level varies based on different devices and audio settings. I try to get it as balanced as I can and even pay an audio editor to do a full audio edit on the finalized video. I'll give them more of this feedback.
@wesscarey447510 ай бұрын
Outstanding reply! I know nothing about it but believe you that it is difficult to do. Your videos are getting better all the time. Thanks Tim!!!!!!!!!!!
