Incredible Past Pictures Of Inside The Buntings Lodge- Then & Now

Wow. I was in total shock when these pictures were shared with me of the past pictures inside one of Assateague Islands most iconic lodges. I dug up some old footage I had of inside the lodge and added in the pictures for a "Then & Now" video!

We had a home on Cumberland island national seashore. Life estate for my husband life, so 11 years ago I had 90 days to be gone. No bridges, stores , mail, nothing. Our home has been sitting, decaying like this. The memories and lives touched by these places are to be treasured. It’s nice that you share these photos. I have many boxes slides from the 1970s that he took. I need to go through. Many places are long gone, but o know what they are. Not sure what to do with them.

That's so sad to hear! I just looked up Cumberland Island, it sounds like a beautiful place! I can only imagine the photos and memories you have, much like the people of Assateague Island! Something I would recommend, write down some memories or stories. Some of the people I've talked to here about their houses on Assateague just started doing that and have told me they wished they did it years ago. I'm sure someone will eventually want to know everything about your home and your memories and especially preserving the history of it!

I think of the place from time to time and how nice it would be if it was still up and running today, the before and after pictures really set the Story . Thanks to the family and you taking the time boss. I'm hearing some stories. That there are some bluefish running. On your side of town is that true or not

Great info on Buntings Jay...We will be down next week to Fish and I was wondering if you can still park at the Oceanic or have to use the Municipal Lot?

Oceanic opened for the year, so you have to use the municipal lot. Or you can park behind The Wedge in that small lot by the inlet and just walk across the street to the Oceanic if you want to fish by the hotel.

I'm assuming yes. Debbie was telling me the Priscilla charter boat docked there was her family's boat. I learned of some new things about that boat this past weekend. I'll be doing another video about the lodge again and about the boat.
