Fantastic video of the subjects chosen, I kept hoping the 9+ minutes length would somehow turn into an hour! I loved seeing every subject in their "natural" look, but was especially blown away with the 1982 Russian shots of the surface of Venus- how did I never see these? Anyway, loved the whole beautiful, informative video and can't wait for part 2 (and 3, 4, 5, 6...).

@Miguel Cisneros- I doubt that atheists would have a problem with scientific simulations. It's the biblical fundamentalists who scream the loudest whenever there is the slightest mention of the universe being over ten thousand years old. Most of them completely lose there shit if that figure is six thousand years.
@BrianR.-nu1sr
@BrianR.-nu1sr 4 жыл бұрын
@Miguel Cisneros: The Bible could not have predicted the creation of the universe "thousands of years before". The description of universal creation in Genesis contradicts the observations and measurements of which are the foundational basis of the currently accepted scientific understanding of the nature of the universe. Genesis is fundamently in error when it describes "God" looking over the Earth's rippling waters after instantly creating "the heavens and the Earth". Read the book for a change. At which point does God create the Sun? There are also NO "scientific statements" that refute atheism. You did not include a single one, yet professed with certainty that they exist. The fact is that atheism is a predominantly accepted philosophy, even by yourself. I shall attempt to phrase that argument in a form that is easily understandable for most people. It is a fact that there are over 140 different religions on Earth. Without delving into the superstitious origins of most of them, it is a fact that the vast majority of religions disagree with virtually all of the others, and are therefore denying those beliefs in whatever invisible or magical deity is at the foundation of each of them. At the height of the hypocrisy is the Judeo-Christian-Islamic faith, which is the combined acceptance of a "one true God", but cannot agree on exactly what that God's actual name is, what form of worship, tribute and daily living it demands from its "creations", or why there is absolutely no physical evidence for the existence of that imaginary being. The ONLY way atheists can be humiliated would be if God were to approach them and reveal every aspect, in detail, of each of their lives from birth. That has not happened and I will confidently predict that it will never happen. Theism is a faith and faith, by definition, is belief in the absence of evidence. God exists only in your mind because you want "him" to be real. Your life has no purpose without the belief that it was magically created by an invisible male being that looks like a man and who existed before our universe was formed.

And remember, the "close up" is actually related to how powerful the camera lenses are. We're not seeing the surface of the planet in real time; we're seeing the surface's reflected light as it enters the camera lens. The same for the Sun. If an Earth-bound satellite captures images of the Sun, we are seeing the Sun's surface as it was 8 minutes ago, not presently.

We technically can, it's just that it's difficult to find places with a low enough amount of light pollution 😭

Magical. Ice mining on these moons for fuel, oxygen and further exploration. Any activity scars will be erased by geological processes.

There can be no words of any merit we can use to justifiably describe our Solar System except to say what a wondrous place.

I love living in a time when space imagining and audio is possible but I can't help think about billions of years from now some other galaxy travellers find all our space junk on so many planets wondering how civilization survived on planet such and such and where did they all go? Haha

@@flipflat4814 Dunning-Kreuger isn't an ad hominem, but an observable fact. The number of Flat Earthers that think they know better than the scientific community but can't understand things like elementary school geometry (Sleeping Warrior) or basic unit conversion (eg metres to kilometres as per Nathan Oakley) is a source of never-ending amusement to many of us.
