I cannot express enough how amazing you are! Again, there are no words to describe it. You are very gifted. Your demonstration of using only two finger to play staccato on the violin is unheard of. It is not only fast, but clear and even. You also make whole DOWN bow staccato from the frog to the tip look so easy.

In my method "The Shonert technique" the training of firm staccato is only an irresistible stage for mastering the whole technique of the right hand. On the example of this stroke I learn to control my muscles, emotions and consciousness, and the firm staccato fits for it best of all. I dare repeat: the possession of this complex stroke will help in achieving the main goal to master the whole technique of the right hand. My staccato method is just the tip of the iceberg. I explain the basics of my methodology in my book" How to learn the firm staccato up and down for 3 lessons", which you can order on my web-site: shonertacademy.com/buy-book/ It is clear that there are the things that can be explained only by personal contact with the student. That is why in addition to the book I offer master classes and on line lessons. I help to remove the limits that many people create in their own heads. These very limits that very often create the problems for the performer and prevent him\or her from reaching a new level. "Firstly, you need to understand yourself and then to teach your hands".

Very interesting. This is Heifetz way how to achieve slur staccato. Practice slur staccatos everyday when you practice arpeggios. But it takes years with that method. If there is will there is way method.

I not agree. My staccato method is different than staccato method of Heifetz.Heifetz chenges position of his hand when he plays up bow and down bow staccato. His mehod works only for him but my method is more universal and works for everybody. All my students have got firm staccato using my method ane some of them have got it only for a few lessons. not years like you said.

As much as I would like to say amazing, which it is, don't get me wrong, however, the title is kind of misleading. I thought it meant using only two-fingers for fretting, not for the bow. >.< I was kind of looking for a violinist/fiddler that only plays with two-fingers on the fret only. My pinky and ring finger are paralyzed on my left hand so I cannot play fast pieces on the violin. I figure it was impossible from the start, then I saw this video, and sadly, I got disappointed. Once again, don't get me wrong, this technique seems pretty awesome, but I really thought it was a video of someone playing moderately fast with only two-fingers on fret board, not the bow. Just saying...

I'm sure that is something you can do because that's what I only could do in order to play a little faster. However, what I am looking more specifically is that, is it even remotely possible to play a fast passage like "Flight of the Bumblebee" with just two-fingers on fret board? As far as I know, I've search the internet and there isn't actually anyone that could do that so far. I've been moderately searching for such person in order to boost my motives and determination to play violin. As far as I am currently, I am merely playing violin just for fun, nothing too serious due to my ring and pinky fingers. That's why, I'm searching for a violinist/fiddler that only uses two-fingers in order to help boost my confidences and hope for that possibilities in my current position. The only thing I found on the internet is Django Reinhardt. While, he may not be a violinist/fiddler, but a guitarist, his skills were passionate and versatile. Anyway, if it's not too much to ask, I would like to see you play a fast piece, but it doesn't have to be something difficult like "Flight of the Bumblebee" using only two-fingers on fret. Any techniques are fine, but notes must be played correctly, unless the piece is made up by you or you are arranging a piece. If I can see someone play a fast passage using only two-fingers on fret, it would bring me higher hope to play the violin more seriously.

Tsuyuhane django was a violonist too. and he developed his own style of playing, and choosed his repertoire. there are pieces other than the Flight of the Ramblebeetle, you may have lots of fun with them. just keep on trying and see what surprises come out.

That is true, Django did play the violin, but that was when he was an adolescent and, not to mention, before the incident when his pinky and ring fingers became paralyzed. After that, I don't know whether or not he continue to pursuit playing the violin, but he did continued playing music as a guitarist. Other than that, it doesn't really help me much. I understand that there are plenty of fun pieces to play other than "Flight of the Bumblebee," but what I'm saying is it would be helpful to see someone playing a very fast passage, such as the "Flight of the Bumble" with precision only using two-fingers on fret. As far as I know, it's very unlikable for three-fingers, let alone two. But anyway, that's why I was kind of disappointed when the title of video indicating two-fingers, when it really isn't what I was expecting. In fact, many KZbin videos are like that because it's possibly impossible to play any fast passage on a violin using only two-fingers on fret. I have never heard or seen someone called a Two-finger Fret Violinist/Fiddler before because often time, when a person loses two fingers or have a few of their fingers being incapacitated to play any sort of instrument, they would give up hope. And that's what I've been searching for, hope. Currently, I am only playing violin for fun and I can play something like "Canon in D" with only two-finger on fret without much problem, but anything faster than that is a problem and comes rather sloppy and choppy sounding music. Basically, I just want to know if it is possible to play something extremely fast piece using only two-fingers on fret. It would motivate me to play violin more serious and practice more. And I almost forgot to mention, I did play a little bit of guitar, and It's actually easier to learn in comparison to a violin. But anyway, thanks for the information though. I actually did not know that Django play the violin until I read more about him.
