daggerwin, you should install the place anywhere mod. That one allows you to place placebles anywhere you want. even on places where already has been build something. That way you can build on places where you can't build now. the one thats out on modhub doesn't work but if you like i could email you the one thats working or give you the link to where you can download it. just let me know.
