@willemventer3935 that's just the thing I believe in all of that Non pork and kosher eating but I'm not Jewish or Muslim, I'm just a boondock Yankee from Michigan. But I've listened to the science around pork and shellfish and I can deduce that it's low level meat and should not be consumed by human beings, I also think there is a clear linked to any intelligent animal being bad for your diet if you think about it all intelligent animals like dogs and cats should not be on the dinner table, and I believe their meat would pose a type of health risk.

The best part of steak and kidney pie are the kidneys. My grandmothers pie was the best ever because she did not line the dish with pastry, she only had pastry on the top. Have never had such a good pie as hers. I used to live in Germany many years ago and my favorite thing was a couple of krapfen, i loved those.

"I'll take it without the kidneys." I'm with you on that one. I like a steak and potato pie or steak and broccoli. The thing about volunteering to eat kidneys is volunteering for your steak to taste like urine. Depending on your chef they can hide that by making it with some Guinness. I'll err on the side of caution. I'm UK raised in the Southern US. There are a lot of things that are simply a part of me and then there are other things I just don't get. It happens.

The sticky toffee pudding discribed and shown in the post was brought to the UK by Canadian airforce pilots in durring WWII. In the late 1970s chain restaurants started to put this recipe on menues because it was easy to cook in advance and heat up quickly when needed.

Yes, Love,we make crumpets, we buy them in Sainsbury's, also baked beans is not part of an English Breakfast, its an add on, usually from what we call a Cafe, where Hard working Men , whom do loads of manual, back breaking work go and often they have chips too, (fries to Americans) , mushrooms and Black pudding too. I spent time in England, had all of these foods. Wonderful meals, they are very good. All I ask is that butchers in the U.S. learn how to cut bacon the way the British do! They're bacon is an actual meat product, not just all a bunch of fat. Truly miss British bacon!

What about Chicken Tikka Masala? Been taking over British cuisine for years.... invented in Glasgow. Yorkshire Pudding not usually eaten on its own, normally with roast dinners. Sticky toffee pudding not on most menus, and steak and kidney out of favour for years, as it is offal. Just steak alone, or with beer in the pastry. And eels, well they went out in the 1900s.... from a Brit hotelier one time
