Very nice, I was there on the 11th of September and managed to catch Sir Nigel Gresley and a 57 on a railtour, as well as a pair of 325s which was lucky, fabulous station to spot at just for the sheer variety

Back in February I had the blue and grey 2F coaches top and tailed by 86401 and 86259 on a footex from Liverpool South Parkway to Wembley Central and return. Nearly 400 miles of 86 haulage and Liverpool beat Chelsea in the f\League Cup final. Had worse days.☺

a question for you why can't LNER diverts pass through wigan north western on the WCML like what carlisle station is and services eventually join the ECML passing through perhaps stafford then there's the problem of services not stopping at berwick upon tweed newcastle york and peterborough

It's a case of not causing massive delays on the WCML if they were to do that, running out of Carlisle towards Newcastle is the best course of action for them to take

They do have a nickname over here in the UK which I can't type out otherwise I might get into a spot of trouble haha, next time you're in the UK I can highly recommend spending a decent amount of time at this station. You're always guaranteed to get something interesting coming through
