Hi John, after your review of these heads I bought a 4 pack for $22 from Amazon. I tested the flight and they flew just like my field points. I put them away and was using a different arrow/broadhead combination until a couple of days ago when I figured I'd give them a try. Well, the first day with them in my quiver I shot a beautiful 8 pt while he was bedded as I snuck to my stand. The shot broke his huge upper leg bone in half shattering it and penetrating about 4 inches into his chest. I shot him again with my kill arrow on a hard quartering away shot which penetrated up to the nock and he died in 20 yards. Upon examination , the initial head only sheared 1 blade off but the other 2 were in good shape with edge chatter but the ferrule was perfect and is ready to use with new blades after completely breaking his leg bone. Unbelievable performance! Thanks again...

Just break down and buy some sirius phoenix bolts and some 150 grain cutthroat broadheads. Itll put your weight a little over 500 grains and handle any business you throw at it. Expensive yes, but completely worth it. It just don't make sense to buy a 700$-1000$ crossbow and then shoot trash arrows and broadheads. The arrows and broadheads do the killing, the bow just gets them there. Food for thought man

I'll put some in my quiver this year. Fly just as well as my QAD Exodus up 60 yards. One thing, though, it says "Replaceable blades". However, nobody sells the blades, and if you decide to salvage a few blades from a couple of used practice heads to make another practice one, there are not fun to assemble. So may I suggest one buys more and throw them away they're done?

@LuskArcheryAdventures2 жыл бұрын
I didn't notice a concerning issue there...at least with the ones I tested. It's not uncommon for some heads to have much longer threads than others; it's usually a weight issue. I don't mind a shorter screw, as long as it gets a few rotations.

Very true. The power and cost of marketing. Deepower spends zero on marketing, whereas some other companies spend more than 90% of the price of the heads on marketing. Very similar to the solid Deepower heads. Of course the ease of Sharpening the solid heads is a big bonus compared to the vented heads r a pretty much 1 & done. I have the Deepower solid ones mounted to my Valkyrie XTORSION shafts I made. They have an Ethics 125 grain insert which teamed with that head for a total arrow weight of 615 grains. I'm planning on testing them but I'm saving them for either a bear or hog hunt. So nice to shoot them into my 2 SEVR targets which I got your recommendation from so thanks for that too.

@@LuskArcheryAdventures Could u sharpen those offset blades John using the Valkyrie wheel system?
@WM-jy9dz3 жыл бұрын
I also bought the solid ones (based on John's testing here) - sharpening is obviously very easy, and the design is actually really clever: by extending the blades over the tip of the shaft the "lever" respectively the BH length from the tip of the shaft to the tip of the BH becomes relatively short thus increasing the overall stiffness and sturdiness of the BH without compromising the cutting diameter. The solid 3 blade design strengthen the design even more (a tripod never wobbles). Thus the whole system becomes much less likely to bend the tip compared to a much more costly 2 blade Tuffhead with a high MA and similar designs. IMO a very simple, but clever and optimized design that gives great performance for a very low price.
@josephtreadlightly56863 жыл бұрын
@@WM-jy9dz 100% true. Cuts down on the expense of using a proprietary steel like Bishop & Valkyrie use. There is no way the Deepower solid heads would hold up to the Lusk testing if they had the shape of the Valkyrie Jag. However the steel along with the Deepower solid one piece design makes it a very affordable reusable item. Kind of like a poor-man's Bishop Holy Trinity.
