Was just sitting in my living room, when we heard a plane. We live in the flight path of Mccarran, so that's not unusual. But I'm a military brat, I know the difference between a commercial or private plane and a military jet. I went outside to see what was going on, and saw literally these guys doing a pass around the valley. Turns out, they were doing a flyby in support of and tribute to the covid 19 first responders and medical personnel. I had no idea, but it was the coolest thing in the world to walk out my front door just in time to see them fly overhead.

We used to live on the very Western edge of Brisbane, Australia right hard up against the mountains..The DC-8.I think had Pratt and Whitney engines. All us kids used to turn outside to see it. Anyhow the pilots got to know we were going out to see them. They used to go low over o ur house. And you could hear the engines then increase power t o get over the mountain range.

@@drnogueiras8783 - Recruiting, public relations - not just domestically but with foreign allies and other nations. I'm sure that one of the requirements of the T'birds and the Blue Angels is that both the pilots and the ground crew are good at mixing with people - "people persons" because they represent their service and their country. I would not be surprised if that same requirement holds for all the other demonstration teams - Canadian Snowbirds, British Red Arrows, S Korean Black Eagles, Japanese Blue Impulse. All these teams represent their service and their country to the public at large.

A "senior citizen" now, I grew up as an AF brat, and have been watching the 'Birds since the late 50's. When they moved to the F-100 Super Sabre, that was it. Been my favorite for many, many years. BUT... The F-16 is without a doubt, THE hands down winner now. Sleek, sexy, fast and the incredible maneuverability of this GORGEOUS aircraft is intoxicating. The Blues' F/A 18 is sweet. but it's a Jaguar XKE to the F16 Veyron. Thanks.

@@patch5859 US and Iran were allies before these stupid ayatollahs occupy our country. Prior to that in 1909 an American missionary called Howard Baskervill devoted his life in Constitutional Revolution Of Iran and died in Tabriz for Iranians. He wanted to help us gain freedom. Unlike what has happened politically, my personal experience is that there is a very good understanding between our people, our nations should help each other in establishing peace in the world. From Tehran where our people stand in front of bullets to Atlanta where Martin Luther king has been buried, we all have been fighting for freedom for many years and that is how our people are connected. I used to be stationed at Nellis AFB so I got to see the Thunderbirds on a regular basis. I was also there when they had their accident during training at Indian Springs in which they all augured in while performing a four abreast loop. It was a very sad time and there was talk of disbanding them. I'm glad that did not occur and that they're still flying. On a side note, the weekend after the accident a Thunderbird bellied in at Nellis without lowering its gear. I watched it happen. Since it was a weekend not many people saw it. How Bitchin' Betty didn't warn the pilot I don't know. They quickly went out with a crane, picked up the aircraft, put it in a hangar and posted guards all around. Then they came around and said to everyone, " you didn't see that". My reply was, " didn't see what"?
