Enjoyed that - about a third of them I've read - mostly being the SF ones rather than Horror :-)

Jules that Department of queer complaints is connected to the Boris Karloff tv series Colonel March of Scotland Yard. Great collection I too collect the horror titles.

Bit late to the game here Jules, but I have the same copy of The Red Planet by Charles Chilton and it's rippled identically to yours which seems very odd. The more I look at my copy, the more it looks like a binding flaw as there are no stains on it to suggest water damage. The way your pages bunch up especially on the title page (which mine does too in exactly the same way) definitely suggests a manufacturing flaw. Or maybe the whole print run was left out in the rain! Who knows but it sure seems an odd co-incidence otherwise 🤔

Wow, this is unusual. I have seen at least one really beautiful copy of this one, so they are out there..but...maybe our copies did get caught in the rain🙂

"Under The Influence" sounds unintentionally hilarious. Like imagine some drunk in the pub coming up to you and being like, "What color am i thinkin of- no, wait - what color are YOU thinkin of? What? Red?! No no wait, neverminden that. I'm gonna tell ya, which one of your neighbors is the next Jack the Ripper, by - get this, mate - reading your mind! Yeah I'm gonn read your mind, or 'is mind anyway. *belch* OoooOooHhhhh..... just one pint is all it takes, hows about it then? Hey where you goin?!"
