Also Sitka was the Russian capital of Alaska. Now, today Juneau (only about 95 nautical miles NE of Sitka) is the American US capital of Alaska. Juneau just being a little under Sitka’s land size, Juneau is the largest capital by land area in the U.S (about 3,255 mi²)! While Sitka comes in at (4,815 mi²), remarkable difference! Skylite has been to Juneau as well, you should check it out! Also, Juneau is where I live. 😁
