@@SpencerWhiteman and Adityar, I've been testing the GX85, G85 (and a G7) with a variety of lenses, and I've found the images from the GX85, G85, to be almost identical, and the G7, while quite good, is much different (and requires different settings, treatment to match the other 2). I'm also interested to see what you think, how you like the 1.4 version, etc!!!

if you choose one lens between nikon 24 and 7artisan or maybe panasonic what you recomend?
@silverlightphotoco3 жыл бұрын
Thank you (nice!) I really like the focal length of 35mm on M43!!! Would it be okay if I fly a few questions by, that may seem a little picky, but my perspective comes from focusing on being a super-low budget filmmaker, who is looking to recommend items to others that are " the best bang for the buck"? Question #1: Do you think, with the ISO capabilities of the GX85, the f/0.95 is needed very often (or does an f/1.4 seem to be sufficient for most NATURAL LIGHT situations)? NOTE: I've used, and done a review on, the Meike 35 f/1.7, and 1.7 wasn't good enough, with my GX85, for some situations. So, I'm looking at testing the 1.4 version, and do you have a recommendation in regard to a comparison to either one of these? Sorry for the long questions!😃
@SpencerWhiteman3 жыл бұрын
Hey my friend, I love these types of questions and concerns so no worries! I don't think the 0.95 is needed often, 1.4 should be more than enough for most situations. I try not to exceed 800-1250 ISO on the GX85, most situations don't require me to go beyond that. The 0.95 could come in handy for that extra stop of light for very dimly lit (whether that's natural or artificial lighting) situations. That's a good question, I think the difference between 0.95-1.4 and 1.4-1.7 is marginal. Maybe 0.95-1.7 is a bit more justifiable of a purchase since that is almost two extra stops of light, which could help quite a bit in very specific situations.
@silverlightphotoco3 жыл бұрын
@@SpencerWhiteman thank you again! I REALLY appreciate you taking the time to answer our questions, and the answers you provided me are very helpful. The ISO tip is just what I was trying to figure out, and am very picky/idealistic about ISO, so I was trying to top out at 800, so it's good to know I can go a little higher.

What do you think about Sigma 30mm F1.4 Contemporary DC DN Lens for Micro 4/3. I'm contemplating on getting the 7artisan or the Sigma.
@SpencerWhiteman3 жыл бұрын
@@LoopyELBARTO Good question. I think the Sigma is going to be a great choice since it has AF, that'll work out great with photo's. It will also be sharp throughout the entire focal range I'm sure, Sigma lenses to a great job at that, they're amazing! As far as the 7artisans lens goes, it will have more character, and nicer flares. The DOF will also be a touch creamier with that 12 blade aperture. With that said, the Sigma is a great all around choice, if you're planning on a more stylistic look, I'd go with the 7artisans!

Would a focal reducer be overkill on this? As it also adds an extra stop. Great video Spence!!
@SpencerWhiteman3 жыл бұрын
That's a good questions Bobby, you'd have to buy the lens with a mount that's not M43, for instance, the Nikon F model with a Nikon F to M43 sppedbooster. With that said, this lens is built to cover aps-c sized sensors, with a speedbooster, it would take the crop factor to a 1.3-1.4x on the GX85 in 4k, where as aps-c sensors are around a 1.5-1.6x crop. There could be vignetting but I'm not completely sure!
@SpencerWhiteman3 жыл бұрын
I take that back, it looks like it doesn't come in a Nikon F mount but rather the Nikon Z mount, so I don't believe there is any way to put a focal reducer on this setup.
