The game before his IL stint he threw 98 for the first time, at least as long as ive watched him. I thought that was what caused the injury. Seeing him throw 98 the other night made me feel alot better about the whole thing. It seems that the dodgers pitching staff may have helped add that velo and the injury was iust a one off.

The “problem” with Yamamoto’s pitching plan is that his control allows him to live in the edges of the K-zone. If he gets a home plate umpire that decides not to give him the strike as he dots the edges, that could lead to a lot of trouble as his pitches will need to leak over a greater part of the plate.

Dodgers getting back brusdar on top of Yamamoto and who knows when Glasnow comes back, is making the playoffs look very scary for everyone else. I think Glasnow is also throwing bullpens and with him and Yama as a 1/2 in playoffs and their lineup? good luck.

I think the new rule should be no one is allowed to come off the bench but the batter is required to charge the mound.

1 caveat: If the batter is unable to charge, a pinch charger can be appointed.

Viva Chavez! I don't know if I would ever call Chavez a filthy pitcher, but you put him in the Braves uni, and he becomes the best middle reliever this game has ever seen. He will be missed if he does decide this is his final season.

A bench clearing "gathering" must involve a real brawl, otherwise both teams have all their players suspended 3 games, 3 pitching starts for starters.

Yamamoto's stuff was ridiculous and as good as you'll ever see from anyone. Montero was great too but honestly not nearly as filthy as Yamamoto. Plus Yamamoto's return has way more implications for the postseason.
