Am I the only one who still thinks Brandon sounds great for his age? He's 25 years older, of course he'll sound different. But his voice sounds more fuller than it did a couple years back when it was overtly nasally

I'm pretty sure the person who mixed this or the person working the soundboard at the show is to blame for the bass being so overbearing during this performance. Also, speaking of bass, where is Ben Kenney? Who is the chick playing bass??

What happened to Ben Kenney?? Who is the lady on bass?
@thelivingbajesus5 ай бұрын
Nicole Row is the current bassist for the band Incubus. She joined the band in March 2023, replacing Ben Kenney, who had been absent from the band after undergoing brain surgery. Row has toured with Miley Cyrus and Panic! at the Disco, and has also worked with Troye Sivan, Daya, Fat Joe, Remy Ma, Ty Dolla Sign, Dallas Austin, and Dua Lipa. As taken from Google. Lol.

@@thelivingbajesus thanks for the information. That's a pretty diverse track record she's played with. I'll check her out. I knew Ben had like brain cancer and was dealing with health issues, but I didn't realize he left permanently. I like discovering and getting turned onto a female bassist that I have never heard of. The female bassists I know of are Ava Gardner(The Mars Volta), D'Arcy Wretzky, Gail Dorsy(David Bowie), Tal Wilkenfeld, Kim Deal, Paz Lenchantin, Tina Weymouth(Tom Tom Club/Talking Heads), Kim Gordon, and Melissa Auf Der Maur.🤓

@eldiablo3794 Its sad. I didnt know about the cancer till I looked that up for you. I have to say those are the majority of female bass players I know as well. Sean Yseult from White Zombie as well.

Poor Brandon Boyd lost that amazing voice. Sad but that happens with age, even though he seemed like he always took care of his vocal chords. Feel bad for him.

Voices change and lose their power with time. He needs to adapt to the voice he has now and there's no shame in that, he's almost 50.

It’s interesting how audio engineers today seem to downplay guitars. You mostly hear the bass, while the guitar is barely audible. Back in the day, engineers would boost the guitars and balance the bass to blend well with them. Now, the mix often feels flat and uninspiring.
