Frustration is a very positive sign. It means that the solution to your problem is within range, but what you're currently doing isn't working, and you need to change your approach in order to achieve your goal.

@JamesGoyard28
@JamesGoyard28 2 ай бұрын
That’s one billion percent impossible all NP have at “minimum” a masters degree. to become an rn you need either an associates nursing degree (hospitals rarely hire) or a bachelors in nursing. How could you lie like this.
@tylers4615
@tylers4615 2 ай бұрын
@@JamesGoyard28 Nurse Practationers require at minimum a Masters or Doctorate in Nursing Practice with a specalization in clinical practice, ADN is only accepted in the states. In Canada you MUST have a BSN to be a RN, ADNs are equivalent to LPNs here. Perhaps your having issues in your system, but it's working amazing for us. Just recently NPs have been given full practice authority for family medicine, bridging the gaps in our healthcare system and ensuring everyone has access not only a primary care provider but an entire healthcare team, that without a NP or Physician wouldn't exist.

2023: some new 22 year old just completes their bachelors in nursing in the spring, they then apply for an NP program later that fall. Due to degree mill programs they don’t have trouble getting in because its not competitive. They then complete a 2 year ~45 credit hour program ONLINE and become a healthcare provider (NP). Congratulations, your “healthcare provider” is a 24 year old nurse that took some extra classes online and got 500 hours of clinical rotation exposure at the sites of their choosing because their programs don’t have affiliations with sites. Compare that to a physician; 4 years bachelors, taking the MCAT and passing the competitiveness of being accepted to medical school, 4 years medical school, where each semester is around 35 credit hours, 3-7 years of residency or specialty training, and an optional 1-2 years of fellowship or subspecialty training. In the end they have around 21,000 hours of healthcare exposure. NP education is a joke and the data proves they provide worse care for patients.

U know they have to work in Icu for 2 years right before they can become a NP ? With really sick pts. Also since you clearly aren’t in the medical field, I’ll inform you that nurses are the ones that deal with pts throughout the day and inform MDS when an action should be taken. Sometimes new MD’s will even ask a nurse for recommendations. They are highly knowledgeable and valuable to healthcare.
@imthrillz5255

@@hazelgithumbi3709 I do work in the medical field, which is why i know. And no, some NP programs just ask for your degree and RN license (hence degree mill). Yes, RNs are valuable if they stay in their lane and do what they’re taught to do, which is monitor patients. That is their expertise, not being the physician and coming up with the patient care plan, or doing the surgery in the OR.

@@hazelgithumbi3709 you don’t have to have icu experience. You don’t even have to have experience as a nurse. I know some NPs that just have rehab experience , or nursing home experience, or medsurg experience, or OR circulator experience and get to go to NP school. My preceptor was a NP and she only did home health as a RN. NPs are good at their job they get the job done . With residencies and further training they can be very valuable to the health care system .

RN starting medschool in the fall here. Was curious as to where in medicine you work? While I agree that statistics show that initial graduating NPs provide suboptimal care, research also shows as they gain experience, the difference in care is minimal. With the shortages of MD's, how do you propose the issue of providing care is solved if you don't implement NPs to provide care?
