Independence Day - Elliott Smith cover

Independence Day by Elliott Smith, performed by Ethan Daum. Another amazing track on the album XO.
I tried to do a mix of how Elliott played it live, and what you hear on the album. This one is tough to play cleanly all the way through :)
I love the guitar picking on the intro - so cool, and very satisfying to play. It’s also in an open C tuning which is pretty fun.
I am actually mostly finished making a tab for this - so a tutorial really will be coming soon!

Oh yes, learning Elliott songs has definitely opened things up for me in my own compositions. This one is definitely hard - I would have liked to get it even cleaner, but oh well :) I think Tomorrow Tomorrow is harder, but this one is tiring on the left hand holding so many bars.
