Independence Seaport Museum Wedding Video // Melanie + Joey // Love Without Borders

Together in love for over five years before their wedding, Melanie and Joey had a true long-distance relationship. In fact, they only started living together in the same city just recently! And during the history of their relationship, they’ve lived in seven different states. It’s a good thing they enjoy traveling… and now they can always do it together!
Melanie and Joey chose a unique and quite intriguing location for a wedding… the Independence Seaport Museum in Philadelphia. With their history of distance and travel, they aptly chose to incorporate a navigation theme into their wedding, also fitting beautifully with their seaport venue. You could easily see the vision of this event and the amazing planning that went into it.
Melanie’s beautiful wedding gown was covered in lace, had a trumpet skirt silhouette and featured a lace overlay illusion neckline and lace cap sleeves. She couldn’t have been a more captivating bride! For the ceremony, she wore a classic waist-length veil on the back of her hair. With shades of blue as the wedding colors, her delicate white and blue bouquet by Marcus Hook Florist coordinated beautifully with her bridesmaids matching knee-length dresses and blue bouquets. Their ceremony was held outdoors on the rotunda, with its spectacular waterfront views of the Delaware River and the museum’s impressive historic ships (and little swan boats!).
After the ceremony, we enjoyed touring the museum and Penn’s Landing for candid video of the happy couple. Melanie, Joey and their wedding party was such a fun-loving group too! They definitely got into the festive spirit as they made faces for the photographer, Jenny Castro, and us!
Their reception was held inside the ballroom and the décor featured maps and other travel-themed accessories. They even had balloons in the shape of globes dancing around the room! Scott Goldoor from Signature DJs emceed this wedding event and provided the evening’s entertainment. Guests had a wonderful time dancing the night away and celebrating the love shared by Melanie and Joey!
