@@IndependenceOverland some friends of mine have a cabin there. There’s a great little lake up that way, the iconic Bonanza mine ruins, the Miers toll road is an amazing route with rich history. Otto Miers built it and charged the miners a toll, moving ore and materials in and out. There’s an old cemetery from the mine near bonanza as well. Interesting to see the dates on the headstones.

Hey, your vids are absolutely killer! I'm hooked, man. I find myself diving back in time and time again, especially when I'm stuck indoors or just craving that rush of adventure. The way you weave your narrative and nail those edits to craft such an epic tale-it's pure magic. Oh, and I've got to ask, what's the deal with that snorkel cap and filter setup you've got going on? I'm in the midst of a similar FJ build myself, and I'm itching to add a little extra flair to my snorkel as I like the extera filter too. Any deets you could toss my way would be beyond appreciated. Keep on keeping on, stay solid!
@IndependenceOverland9 ай бұрын
Thank you sir! The snorkel “hat”/prefilter is just an eBay one. They come as a clear unit but turn yellow pretty quickly. My prefilter is the only Plastidip on the entire Fj and it matches the snorkel perfectly. That plastidip has held up for 5+ years at this point, which is crazy.

I appreciate that you don’t share locations. This area looks really familiar but I know I haven’t been there so now I get to do some digging which is half the fun. Some people call me a gatekeeper when I don’t share spots but with how overrun this state is, more gatekeeping is what we need and that’s a hill I’m willing to die on.
@IndependenceOverland9 ай бұрын
✊Thank you for understanding why I don't share. And also, I do honestly feel like people miss out on a lot of the fun of planning a trip. Just going somewhere because you saw a photo or video to me doesn't sound like that exciting of an adventure. Not knowing whats around the next bend is a lot of fun. Sometimes its not incredible epic places, but thats what makes the epic places really pop.
