This is my kind of fishing right here. I start wading for walleyes/northern as the ice season winds down through may/june, which by that time it morphs into a hunt for smallmouth, crappies, and more walleyes. By mid May it becomes a night bite on our river (Iowa), and sometimes I catch flathead and channel cats on my walleye lures. I also wade some NW Iowa lakes for walleyes around this time, and we often wade out onto sand/gravel bars on these lakes to fish with leech/slip bobbers, or with stick baits.

Can't express how much I enjoyed this episode. Truly 110% by far the greatest episode you guys have released, remarkable content guys, much much support from Ontario. Light tackle fishing at it's finest 👍 Learned a lot

It was great to see an episode on wading for walleye. What about doing one kayaking for walleye? Just got one a month ago and had a blast catch walleye's in the river by me before it closed.

Never thought of the work hook and the sliding work weight. Guessing to match it to the jig head that gives ya contact to bottom etc?? Just in place get worm weight and work hook?! 🤜🤛 great episode

Another thing I love about this show is that they keep the fish in the water, and keep them healthy, compared to other shows who handle them and talk for a long time while the fish is out of water

we get walleyes like that down here in the Sandusky. I really like the idea of the Texas rig. I'll definitely be giving it a try.

You guys should do more shore fishing episodes, good stuff! I think you misspoke around 10:00 when you said No. 6 offset worm hook. On a lure that size, you'd probably want a 1/0 hook. Texas rigging plastics is usually the best presentation unless there are no snags/weeds/etc around. I've caught walleye 28"+ and my biggest bass on Texas rigged 4" plastics.
@hellosweetheart33506 жыл бұрын
So... Fish walleye when the waters at its warmest near sundown They're using suffix line with chartreuse&orange plastics. Make snagless with a bullet weight above hook.

Great episode! I have to admit, though - I would never try wading for walleyes in water that cold without wearing a good life vest. Safety first!

instead of the texas rig making it snag free, could u use the jig the same way as u did with the reg hook & not use the bullet weight? Poke the jig 1/4inch into the plastic then come from underneath & hide the jig hook point like u did with reg hook.
@ricomidence20637 жыл бұрын
Bob Foszpanczyk i always wanted to try this but i feel like it might make it hard to hook a fish. Is it pretty effective?

Loved the video added to my Walleyes playlist really enjoy the ingenuity of the Texas rig for the conditions Only confused about what you refer to as western Wisconsin tributaries that go into Green Bay wouldn't these be Mississippi River tributary waters
