Not a bad video if you would lose the presentation before the actual fishing. At about the 6:35ish mark in video you caught what you called a “big, big fish”. You need to fish the Maumee river (Ohio) during the spring run. Although a nice fish, that’s pretty average out of the Maumee river during spring run. Good fishin!

Loved the vid! My walleye dropshot Take has half the views and for a reason (I got half as many haters as you do and in this game you need some quality haters 🤔) thank you for all the teaching points and shared knowledge - the editing is top notch as well

So, apparently your definition of "drop shotting" and "teaching someone to "drop shot" is not quite what anyone else would define those things as.

What a awesome video. I thought of this idea and decided to see if it has been done. This is the perfect video to show how it is done. I love the passion you have for fishing and the respect for true beauties. Thanks again for the vid counting down the days till thaw.

dont quite understand. if it's so important not to harm them, not to injure them, but to release them quickly in order to preserve the species--then why fish for them in the first place? why stick hooks in them, haul them up from the depths by their lips, traumatize them, drag them out of the water by their gill plates and squeeze their bellies and expose their inner organs to gravity in order to pose with them before the camera? i've been fishing for 55 years and i am sick to death of all the hypocrisy. if you want to release your fish, fine; but don't try to force your will on others. there's nothing i like better than fried fish, and i will continue to take fish home to eat. and i dont need hypocrites telling me otherwise.

I am wrestling with the same reality. I would imagine that the vast majority of fish return to the water with very little lasting harm done, no? Just an honest question.

acmund many state fisheries actually monitor their lakes in order to determine the mortality rates of released fish. a polite letter would probably get you some answers.

7 out of ten released trout die....a catch and release fisherman will say " I had a good day I caught 60 browns .... he killed 42 fish...i caught my limit of 6 and eat them.. i only killed 6

Liberals Suck I havent heard of numbers that high but even 30%is a disaster. I imagine bass and walleye have a better survival rate...no evidence of this just guessing. I too fish primarily for meat, i would like to be selective with my harvest though. I think a call to the game and fish this spring is in order.

acmund www.mgfalaska.com/catch-and-release-or-catch-and-kill/ ....... As you’d expect, the control group had a 100% survival rate. The rainbow trout that were exhaustively exercised and not exposed to air survived at an 88% rate. However, the rate of survival for fish exposed to air for 30 seconds was only 62%, and those that were held out of the water for 60 seconds had a mere 28% chance of living to fight another day. The researchers attributed the higher mortality among fish exposed to air to a significant reduction of oxygen content in the fish’s blood. If these statistics leave you wondering or unconvinced, consider the following analogy: Holding a fish out of the water for 60 seconds or even 30 seconds would be like a human running full speed for a half an hour and then immediately being submerged in water for up to one full minute. Many of us would not fare very well under those conditions and if we did survive, we’d surely carry some ill effects, some possibly permanent.
