I have been a Foreign Direct Investor (FDI) focusing on technology transfer in the agricultural and hospitality sectors since 2012. Each year, I have to spend a significant amount of time and money to maintain my business visa to continue operating in Nepal. To complete the visa process, I must undergo inspections by government officers from the Department of Industry. These officers often require additional incentives, such as transportation, meals, and extra payments facilitated through my legal agent, who charges an additional 20,000 to 30,000 rupees on top of the annual visa fee of 400 dollars. Despite bringing in over 300,000 dollars, including the initial equity to establish my businesses, I still face these challenges. Why do I remain in Nepal? It is because of the Himalayas and oppressed people, not the Nepali government. Stop exploiting foreign investors.

The problems are everywhere in our country. In last 3 years, we have designed and constructed two factories at Chitwan for two different investor. Each factory provides more than 50+ direct jobs. The problem we faced during project, demotivated and worried us about the future of my country. To get the construction permit from the municipality office was much more difficult than design and construction work..... no bribe, no work.
