is it just me or are the softwares for creating layouts really underdeveloped? not even 3d work makes me sit that much in front of the screen. or am i missing something?

I haven't used much outside InDesign and Quark Xpress, but they seem pretty refined for my workflow - there are weird and frustrating gaps in many parts but I suspect that once you have done enough projects you start being a bit blind to what they *don't* do because you are so focussed on what they do do.
