Like the pantorouter itself, this jig is one of those inventions that make you say "OF COURSE!"

We love exploring uses for the PantoRouter joinery machine and love seeing our customers' innovations. Look on our website for a PantoProject by Don Murray where used a similar jig to create a 5-ft long walnut hinge!

Thank you for showing us these alternative uses of the Pantorouter. The more versatile the machine becomes, the more popular it will become. These videos greatly help. I already own one and love it.

I’m taking your class in August at Marc Adams and can’t wait!

If you're driving to class, might you be able to bring your PantoRouter? Only if it's convenient. The more the merrier.

@@macsheldon Sorry; I’ll be flying from PA. Wish I could bring my machine and get Mac’s eye on making sure it’s set up correctly.

Love everything about the pantorouter but really just have to get over my intimidation of knowing how to set it all up to try to move beyond the “set-up” phase. Did all that, cut a few test mortises and tenons, loved it, and then felt like I would never be able to learn all that I need to to really make it work well. Any advice other than just jump in and “do it” which is probably the best advice anyway.

By all means, jump in and use it! I would start with a simple project of some sort. A side table, or stool perhaps. Something that will require some M&T. Mill some wood (plus a bit extra) and give it a whirl. You'll have a ball and if you get stuck, just give us a call, text or email and we'll walk you through it. It really is easy. Happy PantoRouting!

Get yourself a pile of scrap wood that you don't care about, try all kinds of things, and toss them in the fireplace if they don't work out. The more you practice, the less intimidated you'll be. Don't veto yourself!

Is Don Murray's chair pattern available? Ifso, how do I find it??
@macsheldon2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for asking, Don. Don Murray is a wizard with wood and does not work from drawings so I doubt he has it available to share but we can ask and let you know.

How did you figure the width of the jig with the pin?
@macsheldon Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your question! There's no formula, it just felt like a good size to be able to hold it solidly in place on the front edge of the table.
