Sir we r very thankful to u but feeling highly uncomfortable with English and few things more, like can we do it as commercially. Think we have to produce 5 tones fishes, how much gravel beds ( sq ft / cuff) needed we r trying to learn calculations as needed in commercial scale with correct proportion with fish tank and gravel beds for oxygen ammonia and nitrates etc to produce safely our fishes and plants

Hi, Nice informative video. Can you please share what substrate/medium do you use instead of rockwool for germination. Also if you could share the medium that you use after you transfer it to the main tray.

One can use simple cocopeat and vermiculite seedtrays for germination. medium of the growing beds is highly selective as you can see in the growing techniques in the video. it depends on the type of crop if you need to take advantage of it. generally plants that grow a huge root system often need to given a medium to Provide support to the plant body.

River rocks used in Construction are my choice of medium(free of carbonates ie . they pass the vinegar test). unless i want to go for a DWC with just netpots suspended on the raft.

Hi there, thanks for ur valuable inputs. I'm a beginner in this and I think I'll go ahead with DWC. So for germination I'll use coco peat and vermiculite in seed trays for germination and after that I'll wash off the roots and place them in net pots filled with clay pellets. I'm planning to grow lettuce. Is this the right way to do it or the sapling needs to be placed in some medium first and then in clay pellets?

But i can easily get the same result by planting in soil/compost pots Its cheaper Easier ( setup, maintaining fish, no need to balancing the ph or toxicity if water ) No need for electricity Silent (no constant found of water pumping ) Space effect ( in place of the massive fish tanks i can grow plants instead ) Growing plants by Aquaponics does has a WoW or Cool factor to it , but is it really worth the cost and effort ?
