India's External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi met for the second time this month. The two leaders met on the sidelines of the ASEAN Foreign Affairs Meeting in Laos. They discussed the border issues between India and China. Jaishankar reiterated India's stance regarding the India-China border. He said that 'Respecting LAC is Essential'. Wang Yi said that both countries are "actively exploring the right way to get along". India and China have been locked in a border standoff for four years now. Palki Sharma tells you more.

Human rights. Democracies have to take the entire population base forward unlike dictatorships (any self-proclaimed commie regime is one) which can exploit human resources anyway they want. Long term dictatorships however are only a revolution away from back to square one - Exhibit A: former USSR.
