Another jewel in the crown by sandeep. Really Music sees no boundaries. Music has a universal language.Good to see people like Saskia gel well with Indian classical music. Stay blessed. Long live India, Indian culture and Indian music.

The Cello has great depth, and a somber resonating beauty to its sound - an equivalent of which is probably found only in the Veena, Surbahar, Sarod, and the Sarangi. In my view, it is therefore ideal for bringing out the gravitas of ragas, particularly in the ‘aalap’ and ‘jod’ movements, and Vidushi Saskia Rao-de Haas does this with aplomb and grace, as a result of her sensitivity and deep involvement with the art. As much as Saskia Ji has been enriched by Indian classical music, she has in turn enriched the music by introducing the Cello (which she has appropriately modified) into its performance / concert scene, expanding its scope of expression further. We are grateful to her for her immense contribution to Hindiustani Classical Music, and for the yeomen service she and Pandit Shubhendra Rao are rendering for classical music education in India and abroad. Congratulations to ‘India is their World’ and Sandeep Chakraborty for yet another excellent episode, which to me goes on to show how much India has to give to the rest of the world, and receive back in the process.

99% perspiration 1% inspiration. How true. Music (with the exception of the unbearable Bhangra pop) binds, as with any other art form. You brought out Ms. Haas's intense passion for her art. Congratulations on another great episode!
