6:50 India was absolutely not interested to divide pakistan into two parts. On that time, we indian was struggling with other major issues like food shortage and economy. The things get changed when there was a mass migration of refugees from Bangladesh to our west Bengal State. We were unable to handle such mass population. Thanks to our former PM Indira Gandhi ji who took right decision on right time to liberate Bangladesh from Pakistan. Now they are happy, independent and progressive. Before 1947 we three was one country now we are three. Whatever it is, I wish may all three countries flourish and prosper, in future we may resolve all our disputes and live happily. 🇮🇳🇧🇩🇵🇰

Thanks to Indian armed forces huge contribution during our freedom struggle 1971. No we have not forgotten. Yes my beloved Dhaka, the city of my birth is named after the Temple of Maa Dhakeshwari (Durga). Coming from a Muslim family; I am proud of this history and the beautiful name of the temple and the city. There is no point of following any religion if it cannot teach you humanity, tolerance, peace and harmony. Apart from few incidents here and there; we the Bangalis from Bangladesh irrespective of our religious background love to live together in peace. It was divided due to anti-Muslim policy as a result of which genocide of Muslims was perpetrated in Patna in 1946. The same policy is continuous feature of India under BJP and RSS ideology. Always remember Jinnah was congressman an advocate of united India. But he could not accept the killing of Muslim in united India. His narrative has always been proved what is being in India. Bangladesh should respect Jinnah whose determination succeeded to make Pakistan including East Pakistan, otherwise any thing by name of Bangladesh would not happened at this later stage.

Actually, Bangladesh represents the oppressed low caste Hindus and the oppressed low caste Hindus who later on converted to Islam. So you are right about us being converted Muslims. We tend to forget that the high caste Bangali land lords used to have their palaces in Kolkata and from there they used to rule the poor East Bangalis as the Jamindars or Land Lords. Those oppressed Bangalis supported the Pakistan movement to seek some breathing space and freedom from the powerful Hindu Land Lords of West Bengal. So we decided to be part of East Pakistan. But then we have noticed West Pakistanis want to be our rulers too. So, in 1971 East Bengal or East Pakistan became my beautiful Bangladesh. No doubt India helped us 1971; but we East Bengalis also helped Indian freedom from the British Rule. A lot of Indians tend to forget that. Since Independence Bangladesh is progressing. Now, we should do more business with India and Pakistan. But, we Bangladeshis must keep our distance from Indians and Pakistanis at the same time; because they hate and look down on Bangladeshis. This is a fact. Bangladeshi tourism and import dependency with India must be reduced in the near future. We should have stronger border walls with India and grow our own cattle. We should strictly reduce any religious extremism at all cost. I do not want my beautiful Bangladesh to become the next Pakistan or Afghanistan. We should look towards the further east and try to follow Singapore and Malaysian model of economy and develop Bangladesh. Jodi tor dak shune keo naa ashe tobe ekla cholo re. I visited Bangladesh in 2019..When I was in my school I heard a real story to one of my friend about their grand maa and grand paa.the story was like"during the 1971 war her (my friend)grand paa joined mukti yodha bahini .at the time of war Pakistani soldiers were mercilessly shooted Bangladeshi people line by line..among them anyhow her grand paa escaped from there and he crossed the border and reached India.And her grand maa and others thought that he is no more and then they also escaped in India as a refugee. 5 to 6 years after her grand paa and grand maa met again in India and all were shocked after seeing him alive"..This is just one story of one family like them million people were killed and tortured by Pakistani Soldiers'.😔RIP for them ..And congratulations Bangladesh❤💐

It is great to see Bangladesh is celebrating 50th year of independence. This is the only country who has witnessed independence twice -first in 1947 and then in 1971 because of the foolish decision by the Congress leaders and Jinnah to make a country with 2 parts separated by 2000 miles. I feel sorry that bengalis had to fight from the west Pakistanis who were diametrically opposite in culture, language, intelligence and behaviour. West Pakistan which is the current Pakistan is ruthless and barbaric state. I wish Bangladesh to flourish and become strong.

I was 12 years old then. I used to listen to Bangladesh radio broadcasting from Indian soil. Indira Gandhi took very bold step and sent our army to help multi bahini. The war lasted 16 days only. Nearly one lakh Pakistani soldiers surrendered. That was a golden opportunity to get back PoK. But probably India was satisfied with breaking Pakistan. Great achievement and lasting effect on India Pakistan conflict.

Don't misguide people. Total army men in Bangladesh were 32. Among the prisoners 93 thousands there were family members of army men and West Pakistan civilians.
