Prasad was patient and smart he took the wicket and then gave him the send off...rather i would say sohail lost his head...and imran at the commentary was warning him not to get involved and just keep his head in control..imran just couldnt believe ...sohail was so angry he could have taken the game if he was batting for another 10 overs...115 in 15 overs ..next 35 overs only 133 runs..thats slow..i still remember that six by latif of srinath ..everyone in the stadium was stunned..now what...had latif remained steady..it would have been nervous...for india

Yes, At the end it was a back and forth fight. Pakistan had upper hand in the beginning. The emotions were running high at both ends that developed a psychological pressure over players. Aamir did not realize that he was caught with his own trick. He also admitted later in one of his KZbin videos. Rest is all history, but even today it is one of the most memorable matches. Amir and Parsad later reunited in one small brook bond tea add to recall their revelry...

To be honest it is always very difficult to win when half of your batting line does not know how to face average deliveries. When Mushtaq Ahmed comes after Rashid Latif you can imagine batting is collapsing. Untill and unless you select a non wicket throwing batting line. Untill and unless you select a batting line that has good strike rate. You can never win against better teams. They are usually better because they discuss and resolve their main issues in all segments of game. Even today Pakistan team has favouretism. Merit merit and merit along with good set of plan and team unity and act of taking responsibility can put us back on winning track.

Watched this match in 9th standard... didn't knew much about the match situation and that dangerous Pakistani fighting spirit. However, I remember that all the while we were thinking it's a matter of time for India's victory and waiting to celebrate. Now when I look back at this match...231/5 in 42.4 overs.... Oh my god ! They were very much in the hunt and we didn't realise this back then ! Also, it was this match, ten years later to that famous Sharjah six of 1986 by Javed that India finally broke out of the fear of Pak and the mental setback that last ball 6 of Sharjah had. On both occasions Javed Miandad was the last hope. In 1986 he did but in 1996, as a 38 year old he couldn't !! Age does catch up and also, we played exceedingly well. For Imran khan, all I can say is: Just Shut up !

Basit Ali instead of Miandad would have made a big difference in chase...Miandad was spent force by 1996 and didn't justify his position in the team. Amir Sohail and Anwar gave a outstanding start but the middle order could not keep up.
