India's largest Tawang Monastery ¦ Oldest female monk monastery ¦ Tawang Ep03 ¦ Arunachal Pradesh

Hello Friends,
This video is about Tawang Arunachal Pradesh, the land of monpas, the land of Tibetan Buddhism culture and the land of Himalayas. I have always heard about the Tibetan Buddhism in the books like "The monk who sold his Ferrari" or movie like Doctor strange and I do have dream to go to such blissful places where I can interact with the monks and know about them how do they live, what they do whole day etc...
This video has basically 5 parts in which the first chapter I talked about India's largest monastery and World's second largest monastery the Tawang Monastery. They belong to Gelug sect of Tibetan school of Buddhism which also known as Yellow Hat sect. It is indeed the largest and very old around some 300-400 years old.

Saath mein chalenge, I also skipped Tawang coz of Covid19. BTW, was a very informative vedio bhiya. Tibetan buddhism is a bit mysterious compared to Indian buddhism.

Thank you Akash :), yeah sure we can go together, hopefully, this pandemic over soon... that's true I always wanted to know about them more, in fact by reading books like "The monk who sold his Ferrari" and watching film like "Dr. Strange" I was literally attracted to go to the Himalayas and learn their teachings however the Ani Gompa is more like a secluded monastery and in fact Nyingma monastery does have their secluded place top in the mountains where Lamas do the meditation, let's hope maybe next time will go the more remote monasteries if they would allow :)

There is no such thing as female monk. Males who dedicate their lives to their faith are called Monks. And females who dedicate their lives to their faith are called Nuns. Nuns live and Nunneries, not monasteries. Get it right please.

Actually novice-monk male are called drapas and novice nuns are called ani. When they take the highest vinaya vows then they become gelongs and gelongmas. Gelong means monk and gelongma means female monk.

There is no such term as 'female monk' - you are referring to a 'nun'. You wouldn't say 'a male woman' - unless you don't know the difference like a certain US Supreme Court judge.

Hi Preety, jitna mujhe pata Hain wahan ki family apne kisi ek bache ko as a donate kar deti hain Buddhist dharm ko, so mere point of view se aise hi koi ja k nahi ban sakta as it requires whole life dedication... But jahan chah wahan rah, ja k bat karne par pata chalega apko jyada detail mein, and bilkul agar shradha and lagan hain toh kyun nahi... Btw Vipassana k barein mein agar apne suna hai toh woh bhi bahut hi sahi hain, Vipassana meditation kark hi Gautam Buddha ji ne Nirvana prapt kiya tha,. The People's Republic of China thrives on social control and fears the influence of religion which they believe distracts from loyalty to the government. Tawang is very important to Tibetan Buddhism and if China controls it, they can subdue its influence over and power amongst the Tibetan people just as they have with places of worship inside China's borders. They want to make Tawang a puppet with the Chinese Communist Party pulling the strings.
