I was born and raised in Bengaluru, yet I only just learned about him, and that too from an international news outlet. This is the reality.

Your comment speaks volumes about India's sporting culture which, as Deepu rightly lamented, revolves around cricket, and only cricket. I believe cricket is not an athletic sport; it is a pastime, like golf. Hopefully, cricket will suffer from overexposure and fade away.

in this 4 odd minute video, he utters his disappointment at Indian parents who prefer Cricket and how other sports flourish only if they have the wherewithal for the same, and yet DW features "Sports is for the rich" in the title snap, to make it quite clickbait-y and undermine Indians and Indian athletes. DW, you reek of a colonial mindset, in spite of Germany being on the receiving end for the whole of 20th century.
@dwkickoff3 ай бұрын
Hi @TheKukun123, thanks for your comment. We were only reporting on what Deepu himself felt and told us. That's basically it. It's not aimed at India as a nation. It's about his experiences as an athlete.
@kp-kq7ux4 ай бұрын
Well its not DW if there is bo flavour of propaganda. Ok why dont you start by telling me which rich people take us sports in India because as far as i know all of them except likes of Abhinav bindra cime from very poor background. They became rich after they became successful. Saina nehwal's father had to move from his hometown, Neeraj Chopra was a JCO in the military. most of the hockey team comes from middle class families. Manu bhaker comes from a middle class family so whats the point of promoting this narrative?
@dwkickoff4 ай бұрын
Hey, thanks for your comment and the analysis. There's no narrative though from our part, we let the athlete speak and he himself told us that there are these kind of challenges for young people like him. For cricket and hockey it might be a different story, but for niche sports...?!
@kp-kq7ux4 ай бұрын
@@dwkickoff Keyword Athlete which means one guy. Should have mentioned that instead of sensationalising the headline like there are no opportunities available for poor in India. Each person has a unique perspective and opinion but you people are generalizing it for your propaganda and that's wrong.

How is this video relevant to football? This KZbin channel is dedicated to football (soccer), yet you are uploading a video about climbing, a sport unrelated to football.

Hi Nabil, we're expanding to other sports too. They also deserve some exposure and have a lot of good protagonists and interesting personalities. Stay tuned for more ;)
