@@elpagna First of all, I am happy that it is working for you, while it wasn't beyond talking to a friend or a family member for myself, I hope it keeps helping you. That said, in my humble opinion, if someone needs help, we need to recommend them to see a licensed professional, many of which will do online too. The way influencers talk about betterhelp in these videos make it seem like a way more potent option than what it really is. It is basically a paid support chat, that also sells your information. And while it may help to chat with someone, and sometimes help a lot, it is usually not a replacement for actual treatment and should not be recommended to people who need help as a default option. - Which again, these sponsored videos often do. And if someone actually needs to another person that will just listen to them and try to understand their issues, maybe give some feedback on how to approach it, I'd recommend looking for communities of people that go through similar things. While each one of us are unique, our issues usually are not. And it can really help to talk with people that went through similar issues. Since privacy is apparently no concern here, even an online forum can be a replacement.

Hey Magnus, as a therapist myself, I really appreciate you stating the importance of mental health. That goes a LONG way to getting others to see how important it truly is - not just for climbing performance, but for learning how to live life fully and with increased self-awareness. Thanks for your help in spreading the word!

Just the problem that better help is a scam not therapy Especially since you have healthcare in Norway, that provides better care.

@@DKofDAH Thanks. I don't work with Betterhelp and know very little about their practices. As I see it, Magnus has, at the very least, advocated for therapy regardless, and I find that to be a positive thing.

@@Whueso Depends how you look at it. What if people use Betterhelp, which has long been established as a sham company since 2016 IIRC, and then associate all therapy with such practices? That would make it probably less of a good thing, assuming most people who go down the Betterhelp route have a negative experience, which definitely seems likely given their reputation.

@@Whueso Unfortunately, it comes across as opportunistic considering BetterHelp is well known at this point on youtube as a shady business. They've sold private patient information without consent to third parties and had unqualified people as therapists and didn't check any of that. They've also been sued by the FTC somewhat recently and even used official government stamps of approval (I think they were government related, I don't remember what the stamps were exactly, I'm not even a native english speaker) on their website without the right to use those stamps. The stamps have been removed since. I'd also say it's negligent and highly irresponsible to be recommending people a service for something as complicated and sensitive as mental health if you haven't done your due diligence (which he clearly hasn't, this scam has been known for like 6 or more years), if you haven't tried it yourself, or if you're not qualified so quite honestly, as a previously big fan of Magnus, I'm VERY disappointed in him.

Please stop promoting Betterhelp! Has prople just forgotten about the Betterhelp controversy just because some years have gone by?

It's a little weird how people think one controversy means they can't have gotten better. It's starting to sound like a cult how people parrot its bad without saying why
