Mr Frank , my calculation is that China will never invest in India at large scale and will never share its technology with India . It will not be in his interest because China wants to be a superpower of the world but this visit of Modi ji will be beneficial for India.

Donot call this JNU professor Deepak... He made no points merely uttering general words. It isn't class room to talk to pass a time until next period comes

India can draw some business model from malaysia when doing business with china. Malaysia maximum use of barter trade is one such example e.g. palm oil exchange for financing development projects. Another investment model example china invest in malaysian eight port development projects while malaysia invest in ten chinese port logistic and asset management. China invest in township development in malaysia while malaysian invest in city development and water management projects in china. In 2017 the china malaysia trade around USD 65-70 billion and trade surplus favoring malaysia with USD10 billion. Malaysian listed companies have around 20 - 30% finance ministry shares equality.

This guy from JNU is unnecessarily optimistic, I think he is too much inspired from Nehru. People like him , don't see any harm coming from Chinese side. Ambassador Tayal is right in cautioning about China, he is right that China is a revisionist state , aspiring for a new world order led by it. It want to replace USA as the unipolar power and is best suited to do so in the present context when USA is being steered by an inexperienced guy like Trump.

China basically wants India to fall in line , just like Pakistan has, with its long term plans for global dominance & accept its hegemony. China desperately wants to make the Belt Road Initiative, the CPEC a success & would pressure India to join in. It would want India to take up the slack for any trade losses vis a vis the US, to send the US a message that China would win in a trade war easily by finding alternate markets. This " rethink, fresh look, resetting" has been triggered right now primarily by the worsening US China ties. China wants to weaken the growing ties of India with the US & will hold out petty sops like talking to Pak to reign in terrorists, some movement on the NSG membership, on banning Hafiz saed in return for support by India of vastly the more important long term objectives of China. No bhai bhai here. I hope our PM has his eyes & ears wide open.

john doe. Thanks for the link. The LSTv panellists showed a far better understanding of China & what is really behind this sudden ' bhai bhai' gesture by China.

Yasoboy You are obviously a Chinese. India does not trust China because it is a duplicitous back stabbing country. It is China which is desperately trying to cosy up to India because it is being screwed by US, Europe, Japan Australia... basically the whole world except your 2 notorious stooges. Plz do not be under any illusion that India is begging China for anything. This meeting is acc to China's request, not India's. China needs to stop pretending that it's a great country. The whole world views it as venomous snake.

john doe obviously he's a Chinese official troll; No Indian would ever write this way about India.

India should stay away from wherever the Chinese is presence. When you guys saw Chinese servicemen remember to salute! Understand?
