Amish is doing immense disservice to dharmic traditions by equating dharmic concepts with seemingly similar ones in Abrahamic religions (like in example from Luke on advaita), when in fact the concepts are polar opposites. Christians are explicitly asked to believe in God without, inner spiritual experience is prohibited, and humans are put above everything else in nature in creation hierarchy. NO doubt Amish needs to be diplomatic to sell books but o be truthful, he should call out the metaphysical differences in dharmic traditions compared to Abrahamics explicitly, since he is smooth / politically correct enough to be invited to gigs like the India Today Conclave, LOL!

Absolutely. In the Abrahamic tradition it starts and ends with belief. Whereas, in ours it's more about seeking and self discovery. Gods that are created there are didactic and not democratic. On the contrary, gods here are a means to understand ourselves and thereby get to godhead itself. It's a shame Amish is confusing many by his politically correct secular narrative.

Hi.The problem is not with the teachings of Christ but its interpretation by his followers.The Church is at fault for not exploring the spiritual dimension of what he taught.Jesus never came to start a new religion.He had a message for the people of that time.He was contemporary of the time and place where superiority was given to the hebrew torah and the books of tanakh.In the hebrew scriptures importance is given to man as the master of creation. He couldn't reject it outright and he questioned the practices of the people of that time. If you read the synoptic gospels you would see a rebel in Christ.He questioned the teachers of the law , the Pharisees and the Sadducee. What 99% of devoted Christians follow is what has been spoon fed to them, from an early age, by the Church.They have never read the Gospels with an open mind.When Swamy Vivekananda read the Gospels he had a different opinion about Christ.In his numerous discourses he has quoted Jesus .Same as Ramakrishna Paramhamsa. These were stalwarts of Advaitha Vedanta.

It's not accurate to say that "we used to respect nature because God is in it" and "in the modern world, we don't respect nature because we don't see it that way."
