Speaking at the 16th Hindustan Times Leadership Summit, they talked about what is being defined as India’s Me Too moment. Twinkle said that it is happening all across the country.

The difference in levels of knowledge among the three is very much visible. 1)Who is extremely uncomfortable to speak and talk about Vedas. 2)Who does not have enough knowledge and is very much westernised (Not modernised, merely westernised) 3)A person who has bachelor's in mathematics, Masters from finest management institute and even after all that the sheer knowledge about the work he does. Vedas etc is amazing. I actually do not like twinkle so I may be biased here.

If she wants to know about the women who have been involved in writing some of our spiritual texts why have a dismissive and casual tone about it. Am sure Anuradha would be the first to genuflect in front of any supposed Western feminist without really knowing how relevant that person was/is. As an Indian woman i was deeply offended by her dismissive tone. You can see that conspicuous restlessness in this anchor, as she finds it difficult to focus on her agenda or get the panelists to say what she wants to hear. Her panelists, at least Amish Tripati, is not toeing the line she wants him to. This is the sad story of modern India, as Amish alluded to, that "more educated you are, less connected with this civilization you are." It is appalling to hear when Twinkle Khanna says our two greatest kavyas were authored by men, so the narrative is from a man's perspective! How does it matter what the source of wisdom is, when it is meant to elevate the humanity to its highest consciousness? Why this relentless focus on gender binary even when the discussion is about the spiritual nectar flowing from really ancient times that is meant to eliminate all multiplicities and melt into oneness? To add to that, she had to be schooled by Amish about women scholars of our ancient past, and I am sure she will not be rid of her bias even after this schooling! These two women need to embrace Dharmic wisdom and rid their intellects' of Aristotelian logic (a Western trait) and stop seeing conflicts in everything they see as binaries. Dharma traditions have always celebrated women as the creative energy without which purusha has no way of expressing himself. Of course, our society got hammered with lot of invasions, and lot of corruptions and oppressive tendencies have crept into the system, as the society went into survival mode and survivors imbibed the alien cultural traits in order to survive. Hope these "modern" thinkers/writers get their lenses cleaned and seek the wisdom of our traditions before they start "educating" the masses. And, finally, "mythology" is a western epistemic category; in our tradition, it is "itihAsa."

Being a full time working mom myself, I completely understand the challenges that women go through managing work and home. But to attribute someone’s true success to the ‘privelege’ that they get is just not done! If I compare the two here, Twinkle got a platform and audience on a platter whereas from what I know Amish got rejected by more than 10 publishers and finally had to self publish his first book! So let’s not get fooled by the fundamental attribution error here. Twinkle you are a strong, independent woman and a role model, who also is truly privileged in the purest form of the word- please show some magnanimity in your praise and acknowledgment of the other person who has achieved great success, ofcourse with the support from his family as is true for many of us!
