This debate couldn't rise enough to explain simple points in favour of ONOE: (1) Will save personal expenses of candidates as MPs and MLAs can share it (2) It saves expenses of political parties who can campaign jointly for both (3) It saves expenses of govt's who has to deploy resources only once for both (4) It would save time of politicians who are also running govt, to let them focus of governance more, hence adding to productivity (5) It would reduce policy paralysis by blockages resulting from aachaar samhita applied months before elections every time, hence increasing productivity (6) It would not waste productive time of nation where general public, media, politicians and entire nation is engaged and obsessed with elections, rather than on being productive at whatever they do (7) It would reduce acrimony, increase harmony, resulting from political divisions of society with different ideologies For the smaller negatives and obstacles, I have following suggestions: (1) ONOE should also include elections of local bodies, it should truly include everything (2) To avoid expensive EVM and VVPAT, there should be one set of machine, where election officer presses a button to change mode of same machine displaying clearly which election voter is pressing button for (3) Parliament or Assemblies should not be allowed to be dismissed, if any govt resigns, another party should be given opportunity by majority, or by being largest or simply by default (4) Defections shouldn't be allowed until within one year of next elections (5) In case any election falls due before or after one year from ONOE date, they should reduce or extend the term to 4 or 6 years The above is the essence of what matters, rest is noise, bakbak...😮

I mean, look at the standard of the anchor, especially Rajdeep. He doesn't seem to know anything about the issue of "One Nation, One Election." Whatever he was quoting during the debate was utter rubbish, without any factual or relevant points about the subject. On the other hand, the BJP spokesperson's arguments were quite relevant and to the point regarding "One Nation, One Election." One of the questions raised by Supriya was that the report itself has not addressed the issue of "One Nation, One Election" because it does not cover the elections of local governments, such as Panchayats. However, she seems to be unaware that Panchayat elections are conducted by the State Governments, not by the Central Government or the Central Election Commission. Additionally, elections at the local government level do not require the same level of disruption to the country as we see during national elections. You can clearly understand the misguided mindset of Rajdeep when he started the debate by calling "One Nation, One Election" a kind of 'jumla'. I mean, how can you start such an important debate with a dismissive term like that? People believe he is a serious anchor, but in reality, he seems no less than a puppet of the Congress. Furthermore, we do need to respect the "One Nation, One Election" committee report. This concept is not something new in our country. It's been discussed since the independence of India, and it will surely help the country in the long run. Lastly, I couldn't help but laugh at the comment made by one person during the debate, who said that from 2013-2018, he had conducted several seminars on this issue, but BJP did not act on it then. Now, they want to bring it up. I want to ask that respected person: Does it really matter when someone raises the issue ? Shouldn't the idea be implemented when a special committee is consulted, regardless of who spoke about it earlier? Just because they didn’t listen to you back then, does that make the concept of "One Nation, One Election" bad for the country? 😅

In India Loksabha elections and assembly elections are conducted through EVM whereas local self government elections are largely conducted through ballot paper and In Panchayat elections you cast at least 3 votes because there are 3 levels of panchayati Raj institutions Simultaneous Assembly election and panchayat will be a nightmare for polling officers
