The most beautiful days of cricket, when the glory of cricket was at it's peak.

This documentary is absolute gold. It perfectly provides all the different shades of life in Mumbai back in the early days. I was too young to understand cricket when this series was played. But now when I look back at this it gives me goosebumps. Cricket & life in Mumbai has come so far in the last 20 years. It's so nice to see these type documentaries which take us back in those days & relive the moments which won't ever be coming back !!

I became a cricket fan in England in 1990 when I was 11 years old, but unfortunately this was the first England tour since 1990 that I wasn't able to follow properly because it was on Sky Sports TV in the UK and we didn't have a satellite dish to watch it. So it's very interesting to see now on KZbin.

This documentary has everything...the face of indian cricket in 90s...Mumbai's life...how much test cricket was important for indian fans. No doubt England was not mentally prepared for this tour...one mor thing i remember...Gooch had a family problem before the start of this tour and that affected his game. That was an era when indian team used to prefer to play in sub continent..half prepared tracks...but England team managed to level the odi series 3-3. How simple life used to be during those days. No body had thought that tragedy of 12th march would soon hit Mumbai..i remember i was in 5th std...12th march followed by Divya Bharti's suicide. Coming back to cricket indian fans were crazy for Sachin & Kambli..the two shining stars of Indian Cricket...that was an era..an era which will never be back...!

It's very sad to see the large decline in test crowds in India since then. Oh how much the cricket landscape has changed. Still remember the huge crowds Australia played infront of at Kolkata in 1998 and 2001. Even crowd attendances for ODIs involving neutral teams in India (e.g. 1993 Hero Cup, 1996 World Cup, 1996 Titan Cup) also got big crowds with many Indians in attendance. Where did this all change????

Too much cricket, availability of 24 hour cricket channels and availability of other options nowadays for youngsters! It is still supported widely in smaller towns though.

For bringing back the romanticism and love for this beautiful game we need to win the 2019 worldcup and for bringing back the love for test cricket we need to have a picnic like surrounding on the stadiums for all 5 days with 4th and 5th day of free tickets and stuffs like that and may be organise an icc event based on TEST CRICKET !!!

indeed a great test match...pure nostalgia for me...i was in 7th back then..and India was playing first time at home in my memory ( after 92 WC and SA tour)...it was the start of a phenomena called SACHIN (his first home test series, i believe)
@VijayKrishnan7 жыл бұрын
yeah great times, start of the 90s for Indian cricket, over dependence of SACHIN had just begun, cable TV, Mobile phones and of course internet wars had just started #WeDidntStartTheFire

those golden days when cricket was celebrated in this country , time when "FIFA" where our team in not even playing was not being followed madly , i really feel sad when india will be playing england how many of indians will folow each and evry ball of test cricket , yes in this country t20 , ipl and may be odi ( but only during icc events ) being followed test cricket has died in hearts of many cricket loving nation and india is a leader , i have heard from my dad ( a great lover of test cricket) that earlier in 90's and 80's , stadium used to be fiiled with lakhs of people to see the players take on the field with white on , and would come each and evry 5 days and there would be a picnic like surrounding but nowadays when our team in playing brilliantly no one is even close to us as much as test cricket is concerned , there is superstar and megastar like VIRAT KOHLI , a great captain , nowadays test cricket is much more interesting , which the pace in the game because of t20 and odi but alas !!!! Test cricket has lost it's love atleast in india for sure , because in ashes and other series i have seen thousand and lakhs of people coming in test series in australaian and english grounds to supports their team but not IN INDIA !!!! R I P test cricket IN INDIA !!!! WHEN AND IF EVER TEST CRICKET WILL BE NOT PLAYED I WILL STOP WATCHING CRICKET !!!

The '92 WC was the end of the road for Gooch. He should've retired. But this tour was a catastrophe.
@mrkipling22013 жыл бұрын
You’re joking!! He was our best player in the 1993 ashes. If it wasn’t for him we would have lost by even more than we did. I agree with you about this tour though. It was a catastrophe. Players were picked who shouldn’t have been anywhere near the England cricket team.
@AnkitSingh-pz2ju3 жыл бұрын
@@mrkipling2201 it would've been better if ECB had let Gower continue a couple more years. He was undisciplined, but he knew how to score runs.
@mrkipling22013 жыл бұрын
@@AnkitSingh-pz2ju I totally agree. Gower should have played on that tour to India and in the 1993 ashes at least. As you said he knew how to score runs. Especially when you think that Gooch and Gatting both played in the 1994/95 ashes down under. If they could then so could Gower.

This is one test series i would not forget coz this is my debut in watching cricket really i thought kumble , Raju and chauhan were the best bowler in the world but then India toured away after this series and knew what the reality is😊

everywhere in playgrounds and stuffs like them there is cricket , we also play in our locality , our school and but majority of the people roam about with a football and jerseys of NEYMAR , INIESTA , MESSI AND RONALDO i would be still happy if there the names would be of sunil chetri and etc but that's not the case , we are spoiling the thing in which we are good to achieve something which is very far placed and hard to achieve !!!!

This documentary shud b watched by those English supporters who were worried last year why people didn't cm to watch their tests with India, arguably the most sore losers this country has seen, Australia have come more often and lost and not complained, West indies came during the same period and drew or won a few teams and so did all other teams, but the moment the English entourage lands in the subcontinent, the only thing they have ever talked about is the pitch pitch pitch conditions and so forth, who wud ever give a fuck about a team like that, I remember them touring here in 2001 2006 2008 as well and all u Wil hear frm their commentators who btw can never keep their mouths shut specially the current ones (nasser hussein particularly), all they r ever worried about is the conditions, u don't knw how to play here, don't bring ur sorry ass then, stop being perennial whiners, last year mofers didn't even have that excuse as apart frm Mumbai hardly a wkt spun and yet they lost comprehensively in 4 of 5 tests winning 4 of 5 tosses, #sorelosers
@ajsvys543217 жыл бұрын
CAS - Cricket For You we lost coz we played badly, not coz of the 'conditions', when do u ever hear visiting teams in England say, so and so r gud in 'these conditions', that's wat ur whole entourage blabbers, 2001 2006 2008 2012 2016, they talk about the 'comditions' as if it's the first time they have ever seen them, no other team does that here, when u r in subcontinent u knw what kind of pitches u get, just like when we go to aus saf eng we knw what we r going to get, the only time England didn't utter a word about the conditions for a while was when they won those 2 tests in Mumbai and Kolkata in 2012, when England wins it was due to grt cricket, when others win, it's coz of the 'conditions', akram said that after 2005 Ashes for reverse swing that when we beat the shit out of England in 92 series by reverse swing, we were labelled cheats, and when England used the same for winning Ashes 2005 it becomes art lol, and we lost the finals douchebag Coz the other team played better that day, just like they did in semis against ur faggot fuckin team, n not coz they had played an extra match and were better prepared to those conditions as ur stupid whiner captain eoin Morgan suggested, go and have a look, don't cm with ur nationalistic and patriotic stuff to me u have no idea who u r messing with here, keep shut if u don't knw enough!!
@ajsvys543217 жыл бұрын
CAS - Cricket For You and yes we lost in England 4-0 in 2011 and 3-1 in 2014, why? Coz we didn't play well, didn't play gud cricket, not because England are a gud team only in "those conditions", GTFOH!!
@ajsvys543217 жыл бұрын
CAS - Cricket For You here here, this guy pretty much showed what his teams and fella Englishmen have been crying for years, 'these conditions', hahahaha, gud day!

ANUJ SHARMA well said brother last year Anderson was completely hammered by us in India during 4-0
@ajsvys543217 жыл бұрын
Manish Agrawal bro I have nothing against the England player's ability, they certainly are wonderful players and I particularly love watching Stuart Broad bowl when he is on, Anderson is a pretty gud bowler in that he doesn't let u score quickly away, but yeah his wkt taking abilities are certainly limited to 'conditons' where there is swing in the air and sm movement of the wkt, other than that he is a more of restrictive bowler although yeah he is a dick as a person, but I just meant to say that sm of their players, specially the 90's and early 2000's generation were really really sore losers, hussein Vaughan and those guys I meant, it's got to do with that, otherwise Andrew Flintoff was such a favourite of mine, I went to see the mohali 2006 test while during my exams just to see him bowl, he was such a joy to see play and he was at his peak at that point and seeing him bowl was a joy, I also went to see the 2008 test to see him bowl and pietersen bat, and those 2 guys went about their business and didn't moan, that's y they r still so liked and loved here,
