Of course alturas is definitely a superior product than it's competitors. You missed out the presence of Mercedes' engine and gear box which would definitely be highly reliable and responsive. There are number of feel good factors about this vehicle. People must start looking beyond the badge , of you ask me .. I will go for this one within a year.

Really good package. Bt servicing will be costly. Spare parts availability will be a big question. I think so the best package will be Ford Endeavour. It's the best SUV will all features.

Speaking about ALTURAS We Indians never trust our home brands that’s India’s automobile history . Mahindra SUV’s only popular in rural India. I can bet you those people in urban areas can spend around 30 lakh on SUV they never buy Mahindra product they will sure go for FORTUNER OR ENDEAVOUR . Generally we use 3rd row very occasionally and so it's just an issue that the third row is very uncomfortable, but not a big issue , but body roll is very irritating thing, SUV is a occasional off roader and that's why it wasn't necessary to provide almost 260 mm Ground clearance, it's not a fun like endeavor but OK

Good placed details, one thing is very clear that the company must keep the eye on pricing of the XUV in India people believe in modified versions too, Company should stand with customer specially for funds management, tie up with maximum nationalised banks with flexible plans...anyway things will be clear as time moves....

Yes.. better than fortunner, new look, extra features, reasonable price but toyota's engine is really a big positive point. Diesel engine is now valid for 10 years in NCR and may be in all india soon. So i think people can compromise with the engine and apart from traditional buying just like scorpio or fortunner. Smart people would definetely buy this car. 💪

This segment is entirely based on brand image as the cost involved is huge. No one except diehard fans would like to do such an expensive experiment. So clear cut two points. 1) fit n finish level should be very very high with whatever extra features available In g2 & g4 both. 2) price should be very very low. As much as possible. They should not think of earning from it at initial stage. At least for first 5 years as this is brand building period. Remember that whom mahindra is challenging. Toyota And Ford. They are the big daddy in this segment with long time reliability status. And the last point is, that body role man. Improve shockers. Do something with suspension but reduce the body role as it is directly proportionate to the level/sense of safety one feels when inside while riding a vehicle. Learn from Germans.
