I hope we get Shinkansen bullet train sets, because India doesn't have any experience in HSR operations and technology. Either we should import from Japan or Europe. for best technology, after technology transfer we should think about indigenous production.

Kawasaki and Hitachi have stalled the talks for more than a year. They've refused to adhere the delivery timeline. Now India is stuck with uncertainty and has to look for other options. It's not about costs, rather timely delivery of trains.

Shinkensen delivery can be started by them from 2027 onwards and indian government want to start line by 2026 end which is totally not happening. But the cost issue is also there. Cost is 400+ cr for single train which India wants to renegotiate. We have precedence for cancelling contract of aluminium trains for 5cr per train difference so it’s not surprising.

Train is costly but failure to procure E5 shinkansen is a shameful matter for Indian bureaucracy - babugiri and developing indigenous high speed trains is a great work but failure to do so is another shameful matter. Let's hope for the best because - "rail badega to desh badega"

Shinkansen E5 series was the most beautiful High Speed Train ever made. It was a golden opportunity for India to have the most majestic and beautiful looking High Speed train in India. Because we even made tracks according to Shinkansen standards spending 15 billion dollars. All to run ICF 250 kmph which is obviously going to have many issues for atleast 10 years. I hope at least a few Shinkansen E5 series come to India. No design can ever match the E5 series because E6 and E7 doesn't look as majestic as the E5. According to Japanese and world opinion, E5 is the most majestic and beautiful Shinkansen trains ever

E5 shinkansen sets aaney hii chaahiye kyonki hamaare paas abhi itnae high speeds ki trains banaane ki capability nahi hain. Itni high speed ke liye, trains ka aluminium se banna jaroori hain aur abhi hamaare paas uski capability nahi hain. Unka signalling system bhi bahut advanced hoata hain (aur Kavach se bahut different hain). E5 agar nahi mili toh is Bullet train project ka koii point nahi bachega.

Titagarh ke pas hai 350kmph pe chalne wali train ka technology. Its Italian subsidiary "Firema Transporti Spa" was part of ETR-500 (2nd Gen) trainset manufacturing, which operates in Italy even today.

@RailCaptures-byGKP But can they manufacture it in India? If the E5 is not coming over because of the cost, the ETR 500 may cost just as much. Plus, ETR 500 runs on European HSR signalling technology which is different to Japanese HSR signalling.

Tilting technology is unnecessarily expensive and difficult to maintain. Newly built tracks are themselves banked at tight turns to provide the tilt which is a much cheaper and simple solution. Apni metro trains bhi turnings par tilt kar jaati h because tracks mei hi tilt daal diya jata hai
