I was worried about the decline of democracy under Modi and the BJP, the loss of press freedoms (only allowing pro-govt journos to get journo passes; not allowing in Al Jazeera and many other news org. to report, harassing the press using the police and other legal means), and it seemed like Indians were supportive of this destruction of their democracy, or just didn't care, as they'd become more prosperous under Modi's rule and, as a new democracy, seemed inclined to support the govt, no matter who was in power (!). Glad to see a return to some checks and balances, that BJP didn't even get an outright majority is a win for democracy. This is good news for the free people of the world. I dont think you understand, If modi does not convince all of his allies to stay true to the NDA alliance, and even if 2-3 of them decide to ally with INDIA instead, modi's NDA alliance cannot form government, instead the INDIA alliance will form government lead by rahul gandhi. It is much closer than people are making it out to be. Keep in mind that there are quite a few swing parties in the NDA alliance. It all depends on the talks going on in Delhi rn and the final results

NDA has an alliance where 1 party has a lot of seats and a lot of smaller parties, while INDIA has lots of large parties and not many smaller parties.
