Thank goodness! I was worried about the decline of democracy under Modi and the BJP, the loss of press freedoms (only allowing pro-govt journos to get journo passes; not allowing in Al Jazeera and many other news org. to report, harassing the press using the police and other legal means), and it seemed like Indians were supportive of this destruction of their democracy, or just didn't care, as they'd become more prosperous under Modi's rule and, as a new democracy, seemed inclined to support the govt, no matter who was in power (!). Glad to see a return to some checks and balances, that BJP didn't even get an outright majority is a win for democracy. This is good news for the free people of the world. Can't wait to see a time where Modi/BJP is out for good and full Indian democracy is restored.

I dont think you understand, If modi does not convince all of his allies to stay true to the NDA alliance, and even if 2-3 of them decide to ally with INDIA instead, modi's NDA alliance cannot form government, instead the INDIA alliance will form government lead by rahul gandhi. It is much closer than people are making it out to be. Keep in mind that there are quite a few swing parties in the NDA alliance. It all depends on the talks going on in Delhi rn and the final results

NDA has an alliance where 1 party has a lot of seats and a lot of smaller parties, while INDIA has lots of large parties and not many smaller parties. Modi wanted to make it Hindu India just like Islam Pakistan, Islam Afghanistan, etc. Modi divided India on religious grounds. I think Indians have more sense. India is a diverse country and its Constitution has put in place that India is a secular country. But the BJP wanted to change the Constitution with a majority rule. They tried their tactics. They placed the police in certain booth to prevent people from voting for other candidates. In Goa they hired a train to take the Catholics free of charge to Velankanni on Election day. Some stupid Goans took the bait and went to Velankanni and did not vote. Fortunately South Goa seat was still won by the Congress party defeating the BJP candidate. Congress started well all those years ago, but then became corrupt. BJP took over and I was hoping it would bring about UNITY and prosperity to all no matter which religion, caste, social standing, sexuality, etc. But it was not to be. Furthermore all the youth are unemployed. Modi did not keep his promise to provide employment to the youth. In addition INFLATION is running at 15%. India could be the best in the world but politicians are ruining it.
