Ok idk why people keep saying don’t eat this with that. Honestly it’s whatever hits your taste buds just go for it. That yogurt sauce you are confused about is a yogurt based sauce usually called raita. You eat it with the biryani. You can also dip it in with the naan or roti after putting the curry (gravy) on the naan or roti. I’m just happy people are trying food is a part of a country they aren’t familiar with and enjoying the food.

Yes, because we use saffron in most desserts(especially in north India). It is a spice that brings a yellow color when diluted. That dessert is called "Firni", a kheer(Pudding) made of rice flour.
