HUGE THANKS to ExpressVPN for offering all Food Ranger viewers 3 months free and 49% off their yearly package using this link: ExpressVPN.com/Thefoodranger . Travelers need ExpressVPN to stay safe online and to unblock any site. I personally use it for Netflix, even while at home in Canada, but also while traveling to unblock content and episodes that are geoblocked, and I also use it for security, because airport wifi and hotel wifi is often very insecure, leaving my data vulnerable. By connecting to one of their servers around the world, it’s just like my computer or phone is in that location, and all data sent while connected to their VPN is secure, safe, and private from others to see, so I know that my data won’t be hacked or looked at by others. Thanks so much for watching, and we have tons more videos coming up for you! Please leave me a comment below letting me know what you thought about this episode, thanks so much!!!

These types of sikh temple(Gurudwara) are spread all across India and best part is they provide free meal to everyone,you can do volunteer work as well or donate if you want.They will even provide a drink or juice to the people travelling in buses for free,that's how they do charity work.

Trevor, I'd like to say "Thank you" for this episode. Though I've seen another temple experience at "the best ever food review show" of Sonny first, I really appreciate this too. You gave me another sight of it, from a different angle. I am not religious in a specific way (I wasborn and raised christian), but I feel connected to nature and kindness against all being. The warmth and willingness to help of the volunteers inspire me. Also they welcome every human being (not just in absolute and desperate need) to a free meal, which is amazing. I will never understand, that people are hated for skin-colour, religion, believes or sexual interests. This is an example of how to behave against others. Again "Thank you" for sharing your experience with us all. Keep on your amazing work.

Sikhism is a very new religion as compared to christianity. Guru Nanak wrote the main doctrine of Sikhism, and according to history, he was a very educated man, who travelled across asia and into the middle east. So it is very possible that sikhism took into consideration aspects of other religions and kind of summarized/got rid of/ created new ways to appreciate life.

I just had a feeling you would love Punjab! The Sikh are loving people all over the world no matter where they are from or where they settle. I am half Sikh half English myself and I had this Punjabi experience going back to see my father's roots and I'll tell you it was quite the experience. The community feel you get where people are selflessly helping others makes you feel so happy and makes you want to help others yourself! Khalsa Sikhs don't eat meat but Punjabi's do, it's not religious since the book says meat is like medicine which can heal you if you are low on nutrition and is the opposite of what Hindus believe which is everything is sacred and cannot be touched. When you do get the chance, try out Chicken Tangri, some of the best chicken you'll eat out there, I literally lived off that on my one month stay in Punjab. Love the vids, keep them coming!

Jameslawz You have a lot of misconceptions about what Hindus eat and their ways. There are a lot of Hindu temple which offer free food to people as well. A lot of Hindus eat meat.The temples much like the langars do not serve meat.
@Jameslawz7 жыл бұрын
Possibly, I didn't mean to offend you my friend! It's just what I know that Hindus are strictly Vegetarian (although not all) and I know for a fact the ones here in the UK don't follow that strict rule and pig out on hamburgers and such but could you really consider them Hindus? (religiously?). Either way, I didn't mean to pose that as an attack on the Hindu faith, just showing the difference between Sikhs and Hindus since we like to carry our own identity and Trevor has been going all around India which is like 98% Hindu. Although we have differences we also have allot of similarities so lets not dwell on which that divides us.
@tootsie407 жыл бұрын
Jameslawz Well, you're really informed as I previously stated. Hindu diet was previously governed by the kind of work a person did, people with a sedentary lifestyle had a prescribed diet of mostly vegetarian food while warriors and people who did back breaking work we're prescribed a protein and consequently meat heavy diet. Again, for a Sikh your understanding of what a Sikh means is very wrong. The honorific of Singh was given to every first born son of a Hindu family who would voluntarily join the khalsa to protect Dharma.
@saptarshidechaudhury95737 жыл бұрын
+Jameslawz You are so wrong. Only about 80% of India is Hindu. And there is no such rule that Hindus have to be strictly vegetarian. Only 30% of Hindus are vegetarians. Most Hindus eat meat whether fish or chicken. There is nothing wrong with eating hamburgers.

Lol ignorant.... this so called 'propoganda' by you is a conspiracy by RSS to create a Sikh-Hindu divide which they are trying to create since 1966. This has only intensified under Modi's rule. Rss is now openly provoking hindu punjabis to rebel against the Sikhs and adopt Hindi language & culture. They have succeeded to a large extent.

India is a melting pot of religions but we respect each other. The media only reports the rare misunderstandings that happen! We are a peace loving nation. The Golden Temple is a great example of this.Free Food is given to anyone who comes to the temple This is where you are one with everybody, whether you are rich or poor! There is a sense of oneness.. unity. That is the beauty of India, my country.

Mr Obamamacita oh look, a khalistani Canadian. I bet you don't even wear a turban.
@ayandas1246 жыл бұрын
Mr Obamamacita gursikh stands for guru's Sikh. They have to abstain from four kurehats- 1. Cutting or trimming of hair or Kesh 2. Fornication or adultery 3. Eating Halal meat or "Kuthha" meat 4. Use of tobacco and intoxicating drug So, anyone without turban/has cut hair cannot be gursikhi. SPGC states that sehajdhari those who have expressed their desire to adopt Sikhism slowly and gradually, its doctrines, ethics and tenants with belief in Shri Guru Granth Sahib and the 10 Gurus. SGPC adds that A Sahajdhari Sikh is a person who performs ceremonies according to the Sikh rites; who does not use tobacco, kutha (halal meat) in any form, who is not a patit and who can recite mulmantra. Canadian sikhs can be in those category, but most probably they are not, because they are not proceeding towards being Sikh, but claim to be Sikh already. Once they become keshdhari, they cannot cut their hair, so again the Canadians do not belong to this category. Most Canadian sikhs are mona sikhs or mona sardars. Mona Sardar or Mona Sikh is a term applied to a male of Sikh heritage who does not keep the basic Kakkar of Kesh or untrimmed hair. Mona means bald or clean shaven or trimmed hair. According to the Sikh Rehat Maryada, the cutting of hair is a bujjer kurahit (deeds of an apostate). An example of an Indian mona Sikh is yuvraj Singh. So I was correct in my assumption that you did not wear a turban. Even if I didn't know what those terms were before, I know them now.
@ayandas1246 жыл бұрын
Mr Obamamacita yes, and they are slowly encouraged to follow the practices of gursikhs. They are the newly initiated. The ones in Canada have already been baptised by their Sikh family, and are not new entrants to the Sikh religion. Thus leniency of rules (like not cutting kesh) is only applicable for those who are converting to Sikhism, not for those who have already been baptised. Previously, you had mentioned that most Canadian sikhs are gursikhs. What I proved was that your assumption was incorrect.
