Hi I am french with many indian friends. That is really surprising and bad, it's that some french universities send brochures to indian students to make an exchange, without tell them that France is a 100% french-speaker country. We aren't in a situation in which we talk french at home and work in english : everything is in french. So if someone doesn't speak french it will be very difficult. But I think that universities don't say that because I know many indian coming without talk french and thinking this isn't a problem. And they give an expensive sum to inscribe themselves. Whereas even classes are in french. It's very dishonest from these universities ! In reality we have free classes of french for foreigners everywhere, but many don't know because even this information is in french....

One thing I don't get is why are people so surprised when they go to France, that everything is in French. It would be like if a French person went to England and saying why don't they speak French. Everything is in English. I heard in Spain everything is in Spanish. France are a very proud nation. They are very proud of their independence from the revolution, but they won't change the way they are just because people say. Kind of like England. They would just you don't like it, don't come to France. Also probably don't mention to them about the English thing, they will probably get highly offended. If they speak English it's their choice, just don't expect it. Like I say they are a very proud nation. If you make an effort with them though they are great people. They sometimes come across shy, and they don't come across as a particularly violent country. I think that is why when they are, you soon know something is wrong, or they want something. I guess in a way it's their way of showing they aren't happy. It's become part of France. Yet if you watch sports with them, you see a different side to them, you can see they are really proud and you can see they get upset when they don't win. But they aren't bad losers, they admit it and just carry on. In some ways that's why they are different to England, because the English can sometimes be really bad at losing. You are more likely see a fight after a game in England then you are in France I would say. But then that's a part of English. They are very competitive and just love being the best at everything. But like France they are also proud they just show it in very different ways. That's my opinion anyway, or at least from what I have seen and understand from both countries.
@anshulrathi87554 жыл бұрын
Well i am not surprised but the guy is trying to show how is it there in France and his acting anf communication isn’t good so he could not convey what he wanted to but i am sure he had no bad intentions, just that a lot of Indians want to pursue education in France so he is spreading awareness however he could have done better

I am sorry for yall. But you can always visit a place in Paris called La Chapelle where you will get each and every Indian products. We do all our groceries from La Chapelle :-) and yes, language could be a main problem in France. That said, most of the touristic areas do have bilingual or multilingual speakers, be it in a restaurant, stores, or naything. But yeah, beaurocrats could be immensely annoying for non-French speakers coz 1: most of them don't speak English and have never learnt English at school although English is the international language. 2: some of them don't speak English coz it hurts their patriotism towards their own language. Bienvenue en France les gars et bonne chance !

Jitender Singha French is predominant in France so in order to do your business or study or anything , you do need to learn Basic French to converse. Same goes in Germany, learn German or any other European Language. Same here in Canada, I know Basic French just to converse with people in Québec as they don’t speak much of English. And learning other languages is really fun and interesting. Also it stands you out if you want to work in their country knowing, understanding and able to speak in their language.
