The guy's French accent is perfect. Quite impressed, as he's definitely not French (given how he pronounces 'Thierry'). EDIT: We cracked the case. He's French, but he's probably saying his own family name (Thery) instead of Thierry, probably as an inside joke or something.
@DexM473 жыл бұрын
@The Kaynies Well, I'm a native French speaker and I can definitely assure you the way he pronounces Thierry is wrong. But "Antoine Thery' definitely sounds French, so he probably mispronounces it on purpose. He actually seems to be saying his family name instead of "Thierry" lol ^_^
@elrevah3 жыл бұрын
@The Kaynies At the beginning yes but not at the end. At the end he pronounces his name on purpose like an English-speaker would do trying his/her best to pronounce it well (but not perfectly, insisting too much on the rrr when the r should be soft and brief) in aim to be understood by the iRabbit. Or, as the previous comment says, the actor just says his real last name, which then would be pretty weird.

It's not a matter of accent here. I'm perfectly familiar with all type of regional and national French accents (France, Switzerland, Belgium, Québec, Senegal, Congo, etc.). Just as if you say "tovalinion" instead of "television", it's just wrong, no matter where you're from, it doesn't come from your accent. Anyways, the matter has been solved, if you read the other comments above. He's probably saying his own family name (Thery) instead of Thierry, probably as an inside joke or something.

I am from Canada and speak only English. In the mid 1990's I spent time in China on a construction project involving techies from Germany, Netherlands, Japan and Canada. The Chinese only provided English translators for the project so for many people they were trying to communicate in a second (or third) language. Many times I found myself being a 'transliterator' as I could understand the often 'unorthodox' English being used between translator and tech, where they could not understand each other.
