My father passed in June after 3.5 years of being unwell. He'd fallen, in his very last few days, into a semi comatose state. That being said, he was still very anxious and unsettled. The day he passed, before I played his favourite songs out loud , I played this for him gently through my earphones. This, without a question of doubt in my mind, helped him settle and get ready to pass. Thank you so much.

@nested bird yes, true that. I am ever thankful to my parents for inculcating the practice of yoga in my life since childhood. Yoga helps me achieve that divine peace even at my worst and heals my mind and body magically. I often try to suggest yoga to people but they joke about it. I have stopped suggesting to people now. May they find the right path on their own and sooner so.

Sasha stone it surprises me that someone listening to this music is still on such a jugmental and hateful path. Hopefully you continue to explore Your spirituality and meditate and come to be able to release that hatred and ignorance that makes you say such ugly judmental things. And hopefully you can learn to forgive yourself once you reach a point where you can look back and cringe at the comment you just left. And for the record just because someone once crossed the border illegally does not mean they or their family continue being 'illegal" today. What's legal anyways? A piece of paper and a card stating someone decided you are allowed on the land that should be rightfully yours anyways?

Exactly the issue. Yoga means to be Yoked. Spiritually. You go into the spirit realm blind and hopeful. In nothing but hope, and little knowledge, and denial of the Truth, you wade out into the Valley of the Shadow of Death, amidst trillions of Unclean, lieing, murderous, deceitful spirits, on mere hope. Whereas I wade into the same Valley. Decked in a suit of Spiritual Armor, surrounded in light, surrounded of Angels, led/ guided by The Lord Jesus Christ. I have no fear for He art with me. His Rod and thy Staff (his banner and Bo) comfort me. I used to be a Wiccan. For a few years I was in deep. Lord pulled me out and showed me The truth at my request upon Properly addressing THE Actual Lord Jesus Christ. Of which are 2. THE real One. The Anti/counter distinction one. Yoga leads to the other.

When I found the Indian religions, I found the true meaning of religion. Judaism, Christianity, Islam, all those fade away,,, I am in the way of the Brahman, of Krishna, of Buddha, of Mahavira... I am so thankful for that.
@yek6369 жыл бұрын
Proyección Atávica Dude, actually Buddha was against Brahmanism.
@proyeccionatavica40609 жыл бұрын
yek636 Yes, you are basically right, but it is not as simple as that. The Buddha was critic about how Brahmanism was being practiced in his time. If you review the Tipitaka (Canon Pali) or even the Dhammapada, you can read about how the Blessed One talked about the main virtues of a brahman (wisdom and morality). When you mention Brahmanism, I am not sure if you mean: 1.- The sect of Hindu-dharma (Hinduism) that worships the God Brahma: The Buddha is not against the divinity (deva/God) Brahma, it is just that believing or not believing in Him is not relevant for the personal growth or holy life, according to the Buddha. He even uses the figure of Brahma many times to talk about the blessings of following the Dhamma (a.k.a. Buddhism). 2.- Brahmanism as the practice of the brahmans in the time of the Buddha. As weknow, the Buddha proposed a way to purify this Brahmanism, which was full of class discrimination and shallow values like family's reputation, memorization of certain texts or even beauty! 3.- Brahman.There is a very elevated concept in Hindu-dharma and Buddha-dhamma, not referring to any personality but to a supreme essence of existence. Hard to define. But the Buddha referred to the Dhamma once as "recovering an ancient path for the union with the Brahman". So we could define Nibbana (a.k.a. Nirvana) as being in this ultimate union. Of course, the modern view of "buddhism" doesn't like this concepts that are part of the Dhamma, since they have forgotten that the Buddha didn't taught atheism, nor theism, but that this worrying about divinities is irrelevant for the puposes and goals of wisdom, dukkha-nirodha (cessation of suffering) nor the holy life.
@proyeccionatavica40609 жыл бұрын
Anyway, I am a Theravadin upasaka Dhamma-farer (a lay follower of the theravada school of "buddhism") and not Hindu nor Hare-Krishna nor Jainist etc. I am just expressing my admiration for all the Indian approaches to conciousness, trascendence and "spirituality". The Hindu-dharma is more deistic while the abrahamic "religions" are theistic, and that has meant a huge difference. *Metta*, yek636!!
@yek6369 жыл бұрын
Proyección Atávica It is really great to see someone with knowledge. I've been trying to learn Buddhism for some weeks, and I think there are no not-showman Buddhists in my country so I'm having a hard time. I've been wondering how they say Buddha was not believing in god and yet texts of his teachings include his fight with Mara. First, I thought there could be 2 explanations: Either he was referring to the religion so that people could understand him easier, or the writers couldn't free themselves from the bonds of Hinduism. I just didn't want to believe that Buddha was believing in gods-demons etc. because I'm an atheist. And I even tried to put the Five Precepts to the center of my life, yet I couldn't continue. (Because I'm too concerned about my desires, it looks like just giving up after being unsuccessful for many times in a row in life. Would I be interested in Buddhism again if I was just happier? Would I be more happier if things were different? Because some are happier. I'm not them, but they have stronger bonds with life itself.) (And also there's no Sangha near me, if Sangha is the right word for "Buddhist society thing") LOL, look what happens when you don't have anyone to ask about some topic.

yek636 Metta to you fellow Dhamma-farer! In fact, I agree with your statements, it is possible that the Buddha spoke in Vedic/Brahmanist words so the more philosophical and "religious" (which were the most educated) could understood him. But you can understand this concepts in secular or "atheist" way too. For example, what is essential in Mara, is the it represents the "low" desires, the "blind" desires, craving for impermanent and unneccessary things. The one who cultivates effort, moderation, metta (benevolent love), sati (skillful attention) and samadhi (meditation/concentration) is not defeated by "Mara". When the Buddha mentions Brahma, he uses this name as a metaphor of the highest states of wisdom, but in Nibbana (Nirvana) even Brahma is left behind. According to the Buddha, the divinities that some of we humans still fear should become Arahants (enlightened) too, since they are still trapped in unskillful visions of reality. The jealous devas or jealous Gods for example. There is a quote in Dhammapada: "The ones who defeat themselves, have the supreme victory. No deva, nor Brahma, nor Mara, nor even Brahma in alliance with Mara, can turn into defeat the victory of them". About your personal atheism and journey into the Dhamma teachings, I cannot do anything but celebrating it! Five precepts can help you a lot into your personal goals (the are very honorable wishes) and you don't need to be a bikkhu (monk) nor live in renunciation. Even better, you can still reach nibanna as an upasaka (laymen life) as many did according to the scriptures! Your atheism is not an obstacle, if you don't give it more importance that it has. It shows that you are actually a truth-seeker and not a believer. About a Sangha, who knows, maybe you could start one in a future :) but do not worry about it, since many who have the Sangha near them are forgetting the Dhamma. "Let the Dhamma be your refuge", "The one who sees the Dhamma, sees me", "Those who want to show me their respect, follow the Dhamma for that's the perfect veneration". If you want to have a quick and sweet taste of all the Buddha's teachings, I recommend you to read the Dhammapada which is online for free in many sources! And about the Tipitaka (Canon Pali) you could start with the Suttas (discourses) directed to the lay followers (upasakas), I can tell you which are them later if you are interested. *Metta!*

My life is so involved with the world problems, some want to share their rapid tones for me to listen; in respect I have listened for hours on end. What is good for you may not be for me, but both are Great for the soul. Those of you who know The Monkey god, will understand my point of view.
